She’s probably one of my favorite OCs to draw so far💖🦋. While yes this isn’t how changelings particularly look/are portrayed in canon it is said in canon that more experienced changelings can look however they want. Plus their appearances can vary depending on the environment they’re raised in (given how different Odo and Laas look) so yeah I am taking a lot of creative liberties and headcannon when it comes to Lottie’s design. Since Lottie was raised in a Starfleet environment with supportive parents she got a chance to get a lot more creative with her appearance in particular, and not just go for a standard humanoid appearance (though she did have a more subdued appearance during a rough patch in her life with her brother’s passing, and her first year trying to fit in at the academy luckily she had some friends there that encouraged her back to her expressive creative self again by her second year there). While Lottie change into other humanoid species with ease and has when she’s going undercover she’d rather stick with her own unique appearance a far as everyday tasks/and personal life goes. Her personal favorite creatures to shapeshift are butterflies since she relates to their ability of metamorphosis.
