However, for me, she is a fallen angel, more graceful than me a thousand times. Her pure heart, her innocence, those keep me quivering in shame. We are ones being hated by God, accepting these unwanted fates without meaning. But, maybe because of this, we have bound to each other. She has touched my heart, so even if I have to pay everything I got just for being with her, I will definitely never regret."

Aleica: "I'm sorry, Cross. I'm sorry. All I have brought to you are only this sorrow and misery. I can't protect you. I have failed my promise. I can't repay for yor love, but give you more suffer. Every time I saw you trying to smile comforting me, every time you let my blade slash you willingly just to fake the scene before my kins to protect me, every time I watched your steps of loneliness, shouldering these burdens of kingship, my heart was broken. You are noble and kind, yet cruel fate keeps torturing you. But I couldn't free you from this, though I wanted, though I wished. And I'm the one who have chained you, and taken away your deserved happiness. Why do you still love me, when what I can give you is only this wounded heart and despair?"

"The tragedy of the King was decided by the prophecy of Dark Wings' return. Dark Wings, the ancient phantom which in people's memory had been buried in the depth of time, the monster with no heart and form, the bararious beast and the terror of Elios, would revive from its grave and eliminate everything in its path, leaving nothing but agony and despair. Its exixtence was seen as immortal. Nothing could destroy it. Nothing could hold back its evil.

No one had seen its true form, but they always feared every time they had a talk about it. When it appeared, there certainly came destruction.

In the history of Elios, Dark Wings was described as the cruelest and the most dangerous monster, or demon, or shadow. whatever people could call. It had appeared in the the continent once, at the start of every story, bringing the disaster and great panic to the fledgling land.

Until...

A man who was known as the dear child of Heaven and Earth appeared. He was the first ancestor of the Elistors, the father of famous and prosperous kingdom Elgaross. One day he challenged the Dark Wings, and after many fierce battles with the monster shaking the continent, he succeeded defeating it. However, he couldn't eliminate the evil inside the shadow, so he sealed the remain of it in the maze of Chaos, where it had to spend a long slumber and sink to oblivion. His name became a legend, and regardless of later hideous events which was unknown to almost people, people still called him Erza of the Greatest.

After many years,

An aristocrat had foreseen the return of Dark Wings in his dreams. He would break the rule and commit a crime to reunite with his lost Blood. His sin would bring the shattered relic of forgotten time to life. A child would be born by the power and soul sealed in this relic with the support of his parents' love and sacrifices. He would became a King, the wisest and most distinguished leader in history of Elgaross, even more than the master of the relic, Erza the Greatest, in some rumors.

But Fate is unpredictable and more cruel than anything people could imagine. Being born to stand against the evil of Dark Wings, yet ironically, the King had fallen in love with the monster. He didn't know the girl he had held precious was the vessel of the monster's reborn, and even after he acknowledged it, he was still stubborn and blind loving her. The downfall of him and his men came from this forbidden and guilty love.

However, there was a conflict here which people had overlooked. They just judged and dumped every sin for the girl, praising the King and twisting the truth. They forgot that Dark Wings was reincarnation of negation and destruction. It had no emotions, no love, no caring, no sympathy. It didn't possess a heart in any mean. Yet this girl appeared with dark wings had done something opposite, regardless of her difference as a pure demon. She got heart, and she got love, honestly by herself. She had never bewitched the King. She accepted the sacrifice for someone, a thing Dark Wings could never do.

And moreover, the end of Elgaross and disaster of Elios later was caused by... the King, the hero. With wrath, hatred, agony, sorrow binding him and a heart plunged into darkness, he couldn't overcome the evil. He destroyed anything in his path, mercilessly, heartlessly, just as the Dark Wings had done. And he was punished, being treated no more than a threat and hideous beast. Such a sad story had been told after that, in tears and shame.

So now, with those things, who was the real Dark Wings? The girl, the King, the demon inside of the King's heart, or anyone else? The question would never be answered."

Ah yeah, I want a small story here xDDD

Lately, I have some inspiration for writing fan fiction, and so I continued with the next part of Cross's story. However, it became longer a lot than I thought and though I didn't want to admit it, the story got crazier and crazier and now it was nearly over its limit.*rolf* Ah, why I just keep digging his past from an unknown time?
And since I knew it would take me sometime to complete the next chapter, I wanted to leave it aside a little to jump to another parts of the fiction. And here it is.

Yeah, this artwork is an illustration for Cross's past, featuring with a small story summarizing the main reason why he was born and raised the main question of every events in his lifetime. As you see, everything related to a figure named Dark Wings. To be honest, it was a symbol I came up with, something like an abstract for negative side. That's why the question at the end of this small story up to people's opinions.

Back to the artwork, I have been so emotional recently. I wanted something epic in my artwork and so I got quite an obsession with blood and chains and battlefield. I also wanted to try drawing nudity some time (yeah, I rarely draw this kind of thing.)
And I got problem with coloring. Oh my, I overdid with the effects again and so after I first finished this, it looked like everything was unconnected so I had to try again and again until I could be satisfied
Btw, I love drawing wings and things like this, though I guess I need to improve drawing dark artwork Lol

Ah, and I forgot. But I got some trivia for this artwork here just for fun and making clear indeed:

1. The girl in the middle is Aleicia "Leica" Umbradrake, the true love of Cross and also known as the reincarnation of Dark Wings in legend. However, her actions was different a lot to the monster, and so it raised a suspect.

2. What she holding in her hands was the Amulet of Illusion, the relic sealing Erza the Greatest's soul and power. This amulet was Cross's true form before he was born and also his true heart.

3. Because Cross was born by the power of the amulet, he and Erza could be seen as one, though after a time, their souls separated, causing Cross to have his own soul with Erza as host but resigning to have a long sleep. This detail is also a part of Cross's Chaos Overlord job path when he and Erza decided to fuse again

4. The nameless wanderer here recording this story was Cross's acquaintance and also the one who asked El Search Party to help Cross. She was the High Priestess of Grandos, the reincarnation of a passing priestess who used to live at Cross's age with complicated relationship with him.
