I had the opportunity to ride one of these CB&Q 2-8-2's in my youth. You photo made me immediately think about those excursions with my grandfather. Thank you. This is an instant favourite!

it was late in the afternoon... the light was getting low... the trip was about 6 hours late and that engine was going as fast as it could... that blur isn't photoshop!

as a general rule i don't mess with my pix other than noise reduction and color correction... most of these pix are scans from 30+ year old 35mm slides
