Description I did not know it at the time I took this picture but the Chicago Great Western had been merged into the Chicago NorthWestern about a month earlier. I snapped this way freight in Broadview on the interchange tracks with the Harbor.

This was one of only 2 GP7's owned by the CGW. The other is #120 which, surprisingly, is still around as #115 on the MRL.

Hey Chris, I was just processing some photos I took in Missoula on May 25 and found that MRL GP9 115 was once the sister of the unit in your shot here. I'll post the shot on my Flickr site in a day or two.

yep... and they've been around a long time... CB&Q put them on their mainline steam engines [link]
