Description Common brown buckbeet

Buckbeets are a large group of plants with each species having a animal-like stem. They have a single small flower on their stem, this small flower will glow a blue, red or orange color in the winter nights. The top part of the plant is completely covered with rough hairs. The reason why this plant looks like a animal is unknown. The "antlers" are used to make daggers and swords out of, but the "antlers" are also used in rituals and are usually bashed to dust and eaten. These beets can weigh up to 50 kg. Their ears turn with the sun.

Codex Seraphinius, right? That book is really cool. I like how you're making your own thing like it. I wish I could own it, but it's like $80!

I did not realise there was something in the book that looked so much like the buckbeet šŸ˜• I really think it is worth the money though šŸ‘šŸ˜

Oh this is kind of creepy but so cool at the same time. I love how this plant blooms in the winter which is so cool I wonder if the plant's animal like appearance is a means of protection so it doesn't get eaten?? I love reading about the biology of these flora/fauna.

I wonder if there are farmers who harvest these Buckbeets so as to sell them to carvers of the melee, or to holy people who perform the rituals...Does the horns when ground for ritual induce hallucinations? Or is it more for healing purposes or cleansing...

Thank you^^I love the way you think, I would love to see a giant farm of these. I would look so weird. Maybe I will draw it some day. No, it does not induce hallucinations, it just makes you sneeze XD I think would atract scavengers to polanate it

Ooh that would be kind of creepy but cool too an entire farm of those little guys...Oh so that's how they would farm it I guess...That is so clever!

That is awesome. What caused the buckbeet to look that way? Are their any subspecies? (perhaps maybe a horseradish? )

A horseradish! That's genius XD I will draw more species, yes^^ I have no clue why they grow like this, maybe to attract scavengers Ā

Cool. Running with the scavenger idea, perhaps they are pollinated by vultures who think they are dead deer. They could even smell like carrion, just like the real-life corpse flower!

The Rafflesia, I know which one you mean I will design some scavengers to go with this plant.
