I was reading that quote and the 1st idea I got was (of course) of Vlad Tepes, then I though "why not do a group shot of him and his "contemporaries"? "
So I just had to do this one..

I used more unofficial art for reference since I didn't like the real paintings (and they were ugly ppl!!!)
Took me almost all day and I know nobody is going to view or fave this as its a very obscure thematic and it has nothing to do with anime or furry so it's not interesting -_-

nu imi place faptul ca propagi o imagine negativa despre eroii medievali romani ! si nu numa ca e negativista,mai e si fals,pt inceput Stefan cel Mare era PRO religie, se gandea la poporul sau,si nu numa, le dadea oamenilor vin sa bea dupa batalii, macar atata lucru meritau si ei, le dadea si la inceput,dar nu mult,cat sa isi faca curaj,toti conducatorii faceau lafel,daca nu sti chestile astea inseamna ca nu ai nici cea mai mica idee legata de istorie si razboi, ceea ce rezulta ca nu iti da nici un drept de critica negativa asupra unor eroi.

Nu zic nimic despre talentul artistic, care este ok si portretizarea fizica este realista si frumoasa. Insa caracterizarea pseudo-psihologica lasa foarte mult de dorit, si nu cred ca este nimeni in masura (cu exceptia probabil a istoricilor si a celor care au informatii cat mai aproapiate de adevar), sa le murdareasca numele asa...
Au fost si vor ramane in paginile istoriei mult de timp de acum incolo...

era intr-o carte despre vlad tepes "fiul dragonului"..iancu ar fi fost o ruda mai indepartata (adik nu frate de tata sau asa, "unchi" mai de departe).
da, unele din date cred k erau fabulate..am gasit multe date diferite si privind anul nasterii lui stefan si relatiile din copilarie ale lui cu vlad, deci s-ar putea sa fie gresit

hmmm, "unchi" mai departe... cine stie.. stiu ca maghiarii il fac pe Iancu jumate cuman (!!!) dupa tata, ca, vezi doamne, Voicu este un nume de origine cumana... mda, sigur, numai sa nu-l faca roman, sa nu-l "imparta" cu noi... mrrr... si unii istorici ziceau ca, de asemenea, Basarab I (predecesorul lui Vlad) este cuman (tot dupa originea numelui sau si al tatalui acestuia.. Indeed they did fight together. 1456...that's when the three of them gained victory over the forces of Petru Aron I think...I could be wrong. I know Stefan cel Mare was hiding out in Vlad's country at the time.
There's a Mircea manga??? May I see?? I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to, I'm just curious lol Yeah, he could use a little more attention. He didn't live very long, but he did have control over the throne for a time back when Vlad Dracul was in exile and Vlad and Radu were having their little tea party with Mehmed. Surprisingly enough he was well liked and had a pretty big following. That's why the Boyars thought he could present a problem.
Indeed there were quite a few "what if's" that present themselves. Mircea supported his father, but was not so fond with his willingness to appease the Ottomans. I would be interesting to consider what it would be like if Mircea had a longer reign and perhaps was even to enact his own legislation. Would he end the yearly tribute? Would he vouch for his brothers' return from Turkey? What kind of punishments would he enact with those who broke his laws (we know exactly how Tsepesh did it lol)?
I think it's possible that Mircea was quite a bit like Vlad. I highly doubt he was able to be around his brothers all the time because of his duties, but it is easily assumed that he and Vlad got along pretty well. Maybe they got together and played some tricks on Radu! I could totally see that happening. But we'll never know now will we

well it's not really a historical manga though i dedicated a couple of chapters to his backstory.
it's actually more of a supernatural "alice in wonderland" -esque violent critique to society , in which the main character is a girl who gets thrown into a mad world she must conform to (no, it's not my own story lol)
strange how this one started from an obsession of mine with being afraid of stalkers..
i went with the less believable "what if mircea survived his supposed assassination?" since he wasn't killed on the spot, but was left to a slow and painful death..
there's a strong tie between the 2 main characters and i wanted to expand their personalities as much as possible in this manga, btu i think it'll be much like hellsing (at least artwise it will be, my style was always similar to hiranos..)

that would be pretty cool to see anyway, and yes indeed you do have a style that mimics Hirano's quite a bit. It's strange how often stories are inspired by dreams or pathological fears. I certainly hope to see the finished product though

i hope i'll finish it too because i have problems with making up beginnings of storylines and names(especially names! i have everything down for the chars except names, because i don't want the main male char to be named "mircea" in the series, but rather in his past life..yeah, like alucard..)

Absolutely awesome drawing! To comment on the before conversation on the name of Stefan cel Mare's wife, her name is Maria Voichita. She is the daughter of Radu cel Frumos or the Handsome, the traitorous little worm that turned his back on his people, and therefore his niece (but that's ok, it was very common in those days).
I love how you put those three together, because they totally stood side by side in battle, if only for a while! lol. The White Knight of Hungary, The Impaler, and the Athlete of Christ all together...now if they could only get along! XP
I wonder something. I've gained so much information on Vlad, Radu, and Stefan cel Mare...but there's someone else many people neglect. Poor Mircea cel Tanar, he didn't even reach adulthood 
I wish there was more information on him. Maybe you know some Juus? That would be most excellent if you should tell me.

well there's very very little on mircea, but i have made him a main character in one of my original mangas just because he deserves more attention.
also his death was very cruel and sad and there' so much room for a "what if" in there..
well vlad, stephen and john WERE together on the same front in 1456, so i guess it could've worked

yeah, problem was that john (left) died right after helping the other 2 gain their thrones. also the other 2 started quarrelling over a port by the seaside and stopped cooperating. when they finally made up (in 1476) vlad got killed so they ended up achieving nothing
though, each on his own kicked some good turkish butt..

Wow really good. I admire people who can do more traditonal art. Photoshop can lead to alot of cheating for those who have no real talent as much as the pictures may look nice. However when a picture of such detail is produced by hand its far more admirable!
