Description
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota was adapted from the DC-3 airliner as a military transport aircraft in WW2 and has been used by almost every air force in the world since then.
The Dakota was introduced in 1941 and widely used by Allied forces in every theatre of the war, with over 10,000 being produced.
The Dakota has a crew of four and can carry up to 28 troops or 6,000 lb payload. It was used for troop transport, parachute drops, surveillance, and general transport.
This example is a Dakota of the Czechoslovakian Air Force 1947.
