I just yawned what up with that. How gifted to transform a vase to a human likeness. Do you have any others? Is this a picture or for real pottery you actually create? I looked at it again and yawned a second time!

I throw the vase and let it get leather hard so it can handel the cut and then i put the face in it.

before it was glaze fired it was about 22" . when i glaze fired it to cone 10, the size and shape of the opening and how thin the walls were made it slump down in to a hunch back like shape lol. so i layed it down like it was resting on a pillow i will post some more pics of it.

throw the vase, sculped the face, put together... i cut out the side of the pot so that i would get a negitive space that would accent the exprestion and shape of the face. fired it, and glazed and fired it there it was looking back at me.[link]

This is a very neat piece. I'm guessing you made the shell on the potters wheel, cut out the side, then added the face by hand into the center. The eyes really emphasize the yawn. This is great work!
