Thank you for the fav! Enjoyed looking at your pottery and fav folder. I love the burnished and carved theme, the hours of work, respect!!!! Have you ever tried shellac on greenware?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

elf2tiny In reply to lifegreek [2009-12-17 15:59:57 +0000 UTC]

no, I've never heard of shellac. what is it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lifegreek In reply to elf2tiny [2010-02-18 17:10:16 +0000 UTC]

Hi Pam, sorry to be so late in replying. shellac is a varnish, when you paint it on dry pots it acts as a resist and you can sponge away some clay leaving the shellac painted bit raised. The shellac burns away on bisque firing. I've tried it once on my Shellac design deviation.

um...yea I don't have a problem with that at all, the only thing is that I don't have a lot of pieces left because they were either sold or are going for sale in richmond and I won't get them back till January, sometime over the weekend I will tell you what's left.

You're welcome, and yes I guess that is true haha, but even so the good is reaaally good so I think that should cancel out any bad there might be.
