I think that the 3D hack is the one I turn to most of the time now. You have pushed it in a nice direction here. The globe is nice and complex and the post work is spot on.

I've worked many times with fractals but never dared too much to push them as a single image. I'm still giving the first steps on fractal image per se. But when I found 3D hack, decided some of the images I was getting were nice enough to stand alone. Thanks from the comment.
