So, went to Petco the other day and saw the most spectacular Betta sitting there on the shelf. He's a pearl-white Opaque Delta male Betta. ^-^

I was trying to explain to my sister how to pronounce Mustard Gas (another Betta coloring, where the body is a green, blue, or steel blue body with yellow to orange fins) She kept thinking I was saying Mustard "Gus." So, when I held up this big boy's container with my jaw dropped, she goes "Name him Gus!"

And so, Gus it was.

I've got to say, I've NEVER, in several years of Betta ownership / breeding, seen a white fish with blue eyes. This picture was NOT photomanipulated or edited in any way.

Update: I just got Gus the perfect lover. I was walking through the store (again, 10 gallon tank bulbs burnt out. x.x) when I saw a tray of new-arrivals that hadn't even been put on the shelves yet. She's somewhat small, I'm guessing around 2 months or so? PERFECT white body; not a hint of black anywhere, including fins. So I snatched her up and ran to the check-out before the fishy manager could yell at me. xD

What would the spawn look like if I crossed this gorgeous male with the colorless female of my dreams? O_O
