Uh? my lines? I use a speedball calligraphy pen with replaceable #56 nib and speedball super black india ink. I hope that's what you mean by lines haha..

Thanks, glad you think so! I'm still learning how to control the ink flow a bit. But I really like the dynamic control over heavy vs light lines that nibs offer compared to regular pens.

dialogue kicks my butt in every page. Adding text to image is pretty much my least favourite part of making this comic.. I'd rather have someone else write the script and just illustrate the whole thing cause I second guess my writing to much haha. Hopefully this is something I'll just get better with or get less anxious about as I do more pages though.

She's still clinging, haha. I meant to draw her little tail on the other side of Kess, but I accidently erased it and forgot it before I started painting. I'm just going to argue that both kess's pidgey and diesel are chillin' in the first panel. His perfect bode is just obscuring your vision of them

I was originally going to introduce this mankey much later after kess's eye had healed and have him actually get hit and bruise it again, but this seemed like more fun.

Thanks, I'm kind of surprised to hear that. Curious if you prefer these ones over the inked ones like in previous pages?
I wanted to see if I could get away with doing trees without lineart but it was super weird and hard, but so far two people have commented positively on the background which kind of has me stunned.

Absolutely prefer these ones! To be precise: I like the mix of inked and not-inked backgrounds like you did in this page. It adds some depth to the background. The "back-background" like the trees and sky, etc. don't stick out too much if they're not inked. It's cool to ink background to make it stick out more, like some grass in this page. It fits perfectly!

Ah, excellent, that's the effect I wanted to get by not inking everything. But I was a bit worried that my backgrounds just looked like colour barf when I didn't use lines haha. Thanks for the feedback,

I almost wanted to hold onto this page and release it together with 40 because Lao is such a moron haha. But I had to have this set up so Kess could question him about dat nidoran and fang could be fang.
Still logically I don't think fang could take on 3 pokemon, one with a type advantage to fire and the other with a height advantage of flying, not that that would stop him from trying.. or if they even stand a much better chance with a untrained pidgey in their ranks.

I use grumbacher watercolours and speedball super black india ink. And lately started tinkering around a bit with contrast and saturation on the computer.
Maaaybe~ If fang can back off long enough to let her in the ring haha...
