The grackle is an intelligent bird, and both parents feed the chicks that have left the nest. They love the mulberries that grow in my yard in Overland Park, Kansas. This one is searching the ground for Strypie, the feline ornithologist.Related content

They certainly are elegant with their iridescent blue. They're messy eaters, too, scattering the seeds all over.
