Surprise!On the chance you don't already know them, meet Harvey Comics characters Casper the Friendly Ghost, and his girlfriend, Wendy the good little witch.
For several years around 1960, nearly every issue of Wendy's comic had a cover showing her and Casper on some sort of date together, usually riding her broom somewhere in the sky, far away from any interruptions. Of course Casper could fly or float anywhere he wanted on his own, but they liked riding together.
I don't know how old they were supposed to beβ pre-pubescent, obviously, maybe 10 or 11? They were pretty wise children. But it doesn't matter. They were totally in love with each other, and not at all reluctant to show it!

There IS a story that introduces Wendy in the aftermath of a battle bet the witches and the ghosts -that Casper had problems trying to stop. When he DID stop the fight, the witches and ghosts partied at Casper's house, playing records ,etc., that Casper went to the Witches' house for peace & quiet -and found Wendy, who had not taken part in this senseless brawl. Harvey published the story and I took it as canonical. About 99% of the Harvey stories I see as made up ,but this and Nightmare's first appearance I took as canonical.

Casper: As I said in the film with Hillary Duff, "friends" doesn't come close to how I feel with Wendy. As I also said in one of my comic books, when I am with Wendy, I feel ten feet tall...if you catch my drift. ^-^

Yes, in my 11th book ,a postscript to my 1000+pg fan-fic, THE SHINING PYRAMID, DIVERGENCE has moved ahead 7 years and the two are now considering marriage.

There are those who say that Casper is the ghost of Richie Rich. Guess money can't buy everything!

Richie Rich was a later character. I never was much into Harvey's "mundane" characters, like Richie Rich, Little Dot, Little Lotta, Sad Sack, and whatever others. I was strictly into Casper, Wendy, Spooky, Pearl ("Poil"), and the other ghosts and witches.
Some comedian made this "Casper is Richie Rich's ghost" observation because all the non-fat Harvey kids have the same design. Casper is the "base" design. The others have hair and clothes of various design added. I thought Pearl was the prettiest girl, with her long, Daphne-like red hair. She never got her own stories, as far as I know. She was just Spooky's occasionally appearing goil-friend.

By the way, I've had running gags with Pearl's hair,serving as a sleeping bag for her, as a surfboard,and even to tie somebody up !
I also had Casper's name mispronounced by some weird people !

In 1 1-pager, Poil paid a visit to Wendy and they spent so much time chewing the fat, the broom ,commanded to sweep the floor,wore a hole in the floor ! Spooky and Casper were not in the story .

Pearl aka Poil gets more attention in my 1000+ pg fan-fic THE SHINING PYRAMID. She is also married now to Spooky and they have a daughter - Opal.
The novel is composed of 10 volumes,with the 8th the pinnacle of my writing in my opinion. The main plot lines were resolved in those 10 books, but then I had writer's block.
An 11th volume was long in coming,but a definite story-matrix has finally materialized. My writer's block has slowly but finally dissolved. DIVERGENCE. Set about 7 years after the events in DARK LEGACY.

Maybe it wasn't writer's block. Maybe you just finished. When the main plot lines are resolved, it's usually time to stop, and start another story.
Not that I can promise to read through anything of this magnitude any time soon, but where can I find this epic? You have no deviations here, and I can't even find a Casper/Spooky section at FFnet!

Now to get serious. I've no concrete evidence, but about the time I was wrapping up my Shining Pyramid novel,with the last sentence of the last page of the last chapter of the last volume (DARK LEGACY),my ailing,93 yr old mother was bedridden and would soon die in the hospital after 4 months. Her age caught up with her. This was in 2007. The emotional and other problems you can imagine !
As my beloved father passed on at 90 in 2003, I was left all alone to manage the home.I had to teach myself all sorts of things. I was only able to refine some chapters and pages in my story and was unable to do any new work...
I have been unable to upload any deviations. I have tried via my scanner,but the laptop has given me CRAP and would not co-operate. I did somehow get a picture of myself taken by a crazy woman who had terrorized me in her office. Look it up in my favorites gallery, under "devious" I wear a look of shock and paranoia.
So, this 1000+ pg book is still unavailable via scanners...

The fault with that would be:
a) Richie & Casper both appeared in promotional cross-brand comics together, as did their girls, Wendy & Gloria.
b) Just as Casper & Wendy belong together, so too do Spooky & Pearl ("Poil") and Richie & Gloria.
