Grr.... I FINALLY got this finished. I made the lineart two years ago, but never finished the coloring. This morning(
), I finally got around to it.This is an original design for a Twilight beast from The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I made it all by myself.
What made me come up with something like this was a fanfic story idea that I have(it was inspired by the Princess Mononoke Symphonic Suite ^^) where I-- a teenage girl living in this present day whose a bit obsessed with ancient legends-- discover a beautiful wolf with blue eyes. The poor thing is injured badly, so I take it in and try to heal it's wounds. I learn that he is the legendary Hero Of Time. (Please bear with me -- in this story, the Link in TP is the same Link from OOT. Now DON'T GO ON about the "Hero's Shade" -- I've already heard that theory plenty.)Where dose this dragon come in in all this? Well, at some point, my home is attacked by many monsters-- this being the worst of them. It has tough armor on it's neck, back, arms, legs and tail, boulder-smashing claws, and it's wings are pretty much useless. It's only weak point is the ruby set in the middle of it's forehead.
The paper I drew and colored this on is pretty crappy.... But it dose do nicely for coloring.

Hey is it alright if this guy appears in my comic? I would give credit for the creature of course XD
but if he did, he'd be like the most feared thing in the twilight realm as such, which I can see happening XD

Well, I'm gonna have to say the same thing as with Hymnos -- a "no" that is still full of gratitude for your interest. This -- as I believe I mentioned in the artist's comment -- is a creature belonging to a more original fanfic of mine(though I haven't even started it yet), so that's where he's going to stay. Sorry again....
...But if you're hurting for dragons for Hyrule, would you like me to give a whirl at designing one or two for you? I mean, I'm not promising anything, but....

Sure, I was aiming at having a twilight species that would be like the most feared thing in the TR, something that a certain demon lord and dark king would just just luv to sick on link! yeah, their that jerky!
But yeah! I love to have some hyrule species! especiaclly considering the onely ones are usually killed TnT

Okay -- just keep in mind that it may take me a long time to even come up with anything. (Creativity is a b*tch. XD) Any elements you have in mind for wicked or benign creatures?

well the twilight dragon would have to have elements that would give him the status he deserves, like thick nearly inpenetrable skin, a bad attitude, extreme aggressiveness, extremely large imposing thickly/heavily built body(made for fighting), twilight markings of course XD, but maybe there could be a legend associated with him like he was a Twilli whose greed transfrormed him into an extremely dangerous dragon, kinda like the fafnir legend, he'd have to have large imposing wings (multiple to create fear?) large heavy feet to crush prey but unable to fully grasp something, and percing red eyes that seem to bore into your very soul!!! XD The other dragon species, well, I don't have anything in mind for them just yet, except for several Volgie like dragons that I came up with a long time ago XD

I was thinking along similar lines, too. (So, like the Bulldragon. XD) I was thinking that prickly spines would give a nice effect. And Twili markings? You bet I'm going there -- wing patterns, man. It would be best to make those markings red, too -- not just because it's an evil creature, but glowing blue on black would be too similar to the pokemon Zekrom. XD
So yes, thick and hard-angled, heavily muscled. Got it. I'll do some headshot doodles and upload them to see which direction you would like me to go in.
Don't worry, I've been bad with DA, too. My feeble excuses being the weather taking out the power, and Frontier (my ISP) being little @$$holes.
I feel your pain. Too many times I've attempted a more serious comic/manga, and it ends in total failure.... That's why I've changed my life goal to "author(and illustrator)" instead of manga-ka. >.>

dragons are hard to draw XD i want to draw one based on a PC game Baldur's Gate II (if you know of it?) but if ever there's a fantasy creature i'd like to draw, it'd be Dragons, then Chimaera, then Phoenixes

You should see the Chimera of Fullmetal Alchemist.... They use the term losely. But Phoenixes are awesome, very beautiful.

I know, i love them, we could actually use the HP phoenix as reference! 8D, although they're uber hard to draw especially to show the layering of the fiery "feathers"
