I redesigned Ben for Biodendron, my fan-made Ben 10 reboot project. It's gonna be a series of RPG games based on RPG Maker MV. Each story arc will correspond to one game, and there will be total 10 arcs. Since I'm doing this alone, it's gonna be a massive project. It should be fun, though.This project is not to "improve" the franchise or anything. It's just another different approach, like how the current reboot is doing. There are gonna be tons of changes, and I'm sure some people are gonna be salty about it lol
Also, Biodendron will take place in the "fabricated universe." It's a universe purposefully copied and recreated by someone (me), rather than an alternate universe. It's a cheap imitation of the Prime or reboot universe without any shared roots. This idea was to keep reminding myself not to get cocky while I try to make my own version of Ben 10. No matter what I'd do, it's just gonna be an unofficial fan game series.
As for Ben's design, I mixed the designs from the previous shows. The overall design is heavily based on OS Ben. Number 10 on his chest is a reference to UAF, OV, and the reboot. The lines on the sleeves, the antenna thingy, and the asymmetric hair bang were inspired from Omniverse. Finally, the shorter pants and the blush are nods to the reboot. This is for the early part of the series, so his costume will be changed as the series goes.

Cool! You know, I have an AU similar to this one, but it's based off of Sword Art Online.
Basically, all the cool alien stuff is in a video game that takes place in the same universe as SAO but it's in the year 2124.
I can give you some details about it and you can draw some fanart for the AU if you want to.

I was just really busy thanks to my teaching credential program. I did draw quick doodles sometimes, but I was never happy with how they turned out. So that's why I didn't post anything for a long time. Plus, I was kinda sick of some people's rude comments.

Yeah, the cowlick was a reference to Omniverse, but I eventually exaggerated it lol It's gonna be mentioned a bunch of times for jokes in the game.

There won't be a big time skip in this series, so Ben would be only 12-year-old in the later part of the series. I wanted players to see him growing both physically and mentally. However, there will be multiple alternate futures for him, and there may be a teen version of him.

Your redesign on Ben Tennyson looks great, also your art style looks nice it kinda reminds me of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt art style if you heard of the show, but anyways great artwork.

Yeah, I get that a lot lol Mostly because the art style is a combination of the American cartoon and anime styles. I grew up with lots of anime when I was raised in South Korea, so it was bound to get influenced by anime at some point. The design for the eyes is actually a nod to the art styles of Ben 10 OS (highlighting the eyes with a brighter color instead of white) and OV("pupilless" eyes).

Secondly, I like what you've got going on here, a project that combines aspects of all series (even if I don't appreciate all of them) in a way that isn't meant to demean or improve any one of them. While I myself am at fault for this in the case of the Reboot, this is something I think a number of Ben 10 fans should consider rather than harping on one series for one reason or another.
What I'm most curious about is the alien roster that will be available, since the aliens are arguably the focus and main draw of the show rather than Ben himself. Will you only be doing the original roster of twenty-odd aliens or will you try to combine aliens from all series? Or maybe you'll just have them all? Like I said, the aliens are the main draw of the show and are arguably what is most contested over by fans of the series, so I'm eager to see what you'll come up with

Thanks! I'm actually going to follow the Rule of 10 because I really love that concept. In fact, I considered it even before the reboot came out lol But Ben will get 10 different aliens every time a new story arc (a whole video game) starts, kinda like the first episode of Alien Force. Each playlist will be consisted of 10 types of aliens: tank, healer, melee dps, ranger dps, caster-like dps, speedster, support, debuffer, the balanced, and the gimmicky one. I'm trying to mix up aliens from all series for each playlist, so that players will still see aliens from older shows even in later arcs. Since there will be total 10 arcs, that means there will be 100 aliens total. So there are gonna be lots of original aliens. Coming up with names are the toughest for me, to be honest lol
I think having 10 different superpowers available is pretty powerful enough. An extremely powerful superhero might look satisfying, but Ben did tend to favoritize a few certain aliens (cough cough Humongousaur) over the rest in the shows. I think what made the classic Ben 10 interesting was that Ben had a limited options to choose. He always needs to figure out which alien is the right one to use. Here, he gets 10 different aliens every time, so he needs to figure out what each alien does and get hang of their powers really quick. And it would balance out how often each alien appears.

A little disappointed that you're going with the Rule of 10 (mostly because I find the fact that whenever the roster gets switched up in the Reboot, the alien that got replaced in never seen again, which often leaves Ben with aliens that have very similar powers instead of the variety he once had; seriously, at this point, three of the ten slots he has are filled with heavy-hitter strength aliens), but I can't really complain since you've solved the aforementioned issue I had by having each slot filled by a specific role.
With this in mind, will you be coming up with all the aliens yourself or will you be asking for fan submissions/asking various artists to use their aliens if they interest you enough? On top of that, will it eventually get to a point (say, int the aftermath of the ten arcs) where Ben would be able to fill the roster with whatever aliens he wants, but still have to abide by the Rule of 10 and Typing rule?
True, but there was a small problem with the original series, and that was rarely using the new aliens that Ben unlocked. All members of the Halloween trio, Eye Guy, and Way Big were only used once by 10 year-old Ben in the original series, and Ditto was only used twice, while Cannonbolt, Wildvine, and Upchuck were used on multiple accounts in addition to the original ten (well, with the exception of Ghostfreak after Zs'Skayr escaped). Another interesting aspect of the show was how the Omnitrix didn't always give Ben the alien he wanted, which forced him to be really creative with how he used his aliens instead of automatically dialing in the exact alien he needed and getting it every time - will this be an aspect of the game, too? Say, the more you use the Omnitrix before it recharges, the more likely you will transform into a random alien than the one that was selected? Or maybe the more a certain alien is utilized, the more likely the next time you try to transform into that alien you'll something else? That might help discourage another Humungousaur phase.
