I like when Japanese element also put into this comic
"アリア、勇気をだして!"
"Aria, don't give up!"

That's so cool how you put the Japanese into the comment. Do you speak it fluently?

I've been an admirer of Japanese culture for quite some time. I even studied abroad there.

Coincidentally, "Opey the Warhead", was inspired, in part, by an anime series: "His and Her Circumstances". I love that show.

I can speak a bit but not as fluently as you think
You can put add Japanese on your keyboard by change the setting at "Control Panel" and search the "Regional and Language Options"
After that search the "Change keyboard or other input methods"
Then a window popup, select the "Keyboard and Language" tab
Another popup comes out, select the "General" tab
Select "Add" button
Search for Japanese, expand the view and select the sub menu entitled Japanese and Microsoft IME. Then click OK.
If the system need disk you have to put the your OS disk.

if you're not clear you can google it

My favorite page in the latest installments . . . there's something about the faces being so gentle and open. The father's face in panel 4 is so genuine and loving, and the last panel . . .

Well, nice to know she had a normal childhood. With a pet pygmy rhino.

Also, I love the callout to Body Politik there

Thanks!

My tip of the pen to Trevor. I'm grateful that you took the time to look at that detail, though, since it was so small. I like to throw in such Easter eggs and see if anybody's paying attention.

In order for me to read I have to look at the download version and I just get lost in the background stuff sometimes

Seeing little things like that, just extra cool.

Thanks, Tom. It was a challenge making a rhino cut but I guess I succeeded.

Zac, this one trully hit me. As you know, I know too well what Aria went through, and I can relate to her feelings so much it even aches. I do hope she continues above them. Well, not Opey, he means well, i know

cluedog In reply to YinSu-photography [2009-03-24 23:59:22 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, Susana. Believe me, your comment means a tremendous deal to me.

I try to create some believability about my characters (well, as much believability as I can get---living nuclear warheads don't exist, as far as I know, in nature) and if Aria's character resonates with you considering what you've been through, then I may have succeeded in her case.

It takes character and fortitude to go through such an experience.

I've never read that story. Has to be interesting, though, to have a miniature elephant in it.

JillianNC In reply to cluedog [2009-03-28 20:07:20 +0000 UTC]

It was basically a genetically engineered pet for folks with "disposable" income, ie, the rich. In the story, chimps had been engineered into a slave labor class, with speech and somewhat enhanced intelligence. They did a film version for "Masters of Science Fiction", but changed the racial allegory.

Brendan probably does a lot charging about in the house, destroying everything as he goes. He's probably not as destructive and troublesome as your average housecat but, still...
