Yes...his death was one of those that made me go "noooo, dang you anime peoples, you made me cry again!" Didn't help that my last dog was part wolf...and looked a lot like them...sigh.

In the wolf pack, the Omega wolf is most often the one to releive stress by intiating play. Despite the looks of it, the omega wolf is an integral part of the pack society. But since they are often shunned at feeding time becuase they are the last to eat at a meal, they often will wander off alone and sometimes become prey to hunters or pumas or even grizzlies, sometimes. But the pack will always search for a missing member, omega or not, and wolves often mourn the death of a packmate for months.
I love this picture. As sad as it is, it shows what life can be like in the wild- wilderness, that brings a different sense than nature. Many people like to only see the beautiful part of nature. Hikes and streams and butterflies. The places where hippies glorify nature. But with all things nature has a darkside too. So that is where wilderness is different than nature. Nature can't harm you on your nature hike, but a trip into the wilderness can kill even the toughest of creatures.
That's why I like this piece. It shows that. This is absolutely beautiful and I hope that the quality of your work continues along this path untill you're one of the most recognized artists of all time. That would make me happy.
