Drawn in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 7, took just about 4 hours.

OH MAN, my series of monochrome portraits arrives at INDIGO; the oft-forgotten color of the rainbow. Nestled away between blue and violet.
Truth be told, as a kid, I didn't believe in indigo. It always bugged me because it seemed too close to either blue or purple to warrant its own section of the rainbow. Plus, on a basic color wheel, there are only six wedges and indigo isn't one of them. Then, one day in my late teens, I found myself stuck staring at this one car. I didn't mean to focus on it, just to glance, but I couldn't look away, because I couldn't decide if it was blue or purple. The paint was perfectly in between the two. After a minute or so, I finally realized that this was the fabled indigo I had heard so much about.
And yes, I had a hard time finding a fruit to name this picture after that had the right color.

I was always put off by indigo as well. haha I think many people now say "blurple" even though technically indigo is the color. Kind of funny. It's as if everyone was so put off by indigo that they had to make up a new word when they were older to not admit that indigo is a color. haha
