Know in legends to be bringers or woe and anguish, these ponies stalk in the shadows of the forest and only arise when the moon does. The legends however do them no justice, they are not evil creatures in the slightest. In fact they are very friendly, if not a bit ominous do to their inability to go out in the sunlight without becoming almost blind. The special quick of these ponies are their shadow like tails. The purpose of these: to signify a lifelong want or need within the pony. Whether it be a desire to watch your own back or to be able to hunt for treasure quickly and efficiently, every adult has a tail specifically for them. The tails can be semi-permanent in shape, but it cannot change shape completely. Every little filly or colt gets their special tail around the age they start to speak. However, no one usually know the true purpose of their tail until around the time they get their cutie mark, as such, the tail is always related to their cutiemark.

Traits All Umbra Ponies Have
Jewels hovering around their horns and necks.
Curved unicorn horns.
Shadow like tails.
A gradient on their legs, either can be lighter or darker than the rest of their body.
A cutiemark (when they discover their talent)

Rare Umbra Ponies Traits
Jewels circling their tails.
Functioning on eyes on their tails.

Illegal Umbra Ponies Traits
Tails that can change shape at will.
Non-unicorn Umbra Ponies.
Ponies that have tails that don't relate to their talent.
Umbra Ponies with neon colors.
