So, a little depressing scene I've worked up. It's Fable III now, the Heroes have been called upon a final time to defeat the evil that has plagued Albion from the beginning. Through the combined effort of friends old and new, the Crawler was defeated, but at a price...

Besides, ALAN GETS A PONYTAIL!!

Fable felt his body fall back into the arms of his friends. Slowly, his vision returned to him as the rain fell upon his face. The Crawler was defeated and gone for good, a cause for celebration, yet sadness was all that could be expressed by his lifelong companions.

"Come on, Fabe," Sid pleaded. "Use that will power o' yours an' 'eal yerself..."

Fable coughed, expressing that his mana was completely dry, that he used all of it to contain the Crawler within him.

"What of that resurection phial I gave you?" Alan asked.

Fable sheepishly smiled, taking Alan's hand. "I already . . . had to use it."

Alan's eyes widened, his jaw agape with his lip trembling. "No, Fable, no... you... you can't be..." His mouth ceased forming words when a knot formed in his throat.

Sid looked from Fable to Alan to Fable. "You can't be serious..."

"It's all right, Sid... I've waited a long time for this..." Fable smiled, looking beyond Sid's shoulder. "Remember our promise?"

"Go for the glory," Sid said, through his trembling voice.

"And become Heroes," Alan finished, through the tears streaming down his cheek.

"I could never have asked for better friends... the weight is gone..."
