Description FINALLY GOT AROUND TO UPLOADING THIS. ;A; I can be such a lazy little thing sometimes...

But none the less, last month I succeeded in constructing and detailing the last part of my Team Satisfaction Kiryu Kyosuke/Kalin Kessler cosplay!

For the first article of clothing I sewed on my own, I didn't do too shabby! Only thing I didn't do was the popped-up collar. :/ It would have been a little difficult figuring it out and how to get it to stay up on its own. I didn't even follow the sewing instructions on my pattern, I just realized which pieces I would need to construct a basic vest and winged it as I went along.

To answer the question, "Why didn't you follow the pattern instructions?" My answer: I DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTIONS. AT ALL. In order for me to understand something it needs to be explained or written in complete stupid for me to interpret and understand what it means.

In other words, the instructions were too advanced.

But hey, at least I didn't end up sewing a shoe to my hand. When I wasn't even making a shoe.

Anyways though, I am quite happy with the results of my first completed piece of clothing. I spent one day constructing the vest and then the other two were spent detailing it, hemming it and making it look pretty.

Everything but the shoulder fluff was sewed by machine. The shoulder fluff was sewed by hand because I felt it would be a little too difficult to sew by machine.

The brown fabric is corduroy (line-less corduroy as it was easier to work with) and the off-white trimming is twill tape.

All fabric was purchased from JoAnn Fabric, as was the sewing pattern. The sewing pattern (for those of you who care what it was) was "Burda Style #7350 - Pattern B".

Will be worn at ConnectiCon 2012 on Saturday this weekend. So excited to be cosplaying as Kiryu!

For those of you who viewed thank you very much. Comments would be appreciated (saying as this was the fruits of my labor) thank you!

Also sorry for the poor lighting in some photos. I worked on this mostly during afternoons and late into the evening. And my kitchen has rather insufficient lighting.

LONG DESCRIPTION IS LONG. SORRY EVERYONE.

I'd say so as well. I'm just real happy I didn't screw it up like I thought I would.
