Description This is an aquatint plate, ready to be printed. The image is created by hand scraping onto a copper plate which has been etched with a rough texture of fine dots, then printing the plate onto paper via a press. The more I scrape away at the rough surface of the plate, the lighter an area will print.

Currently I'm working on a project to do with the idea of nature as a contrasting collaboration of beauty and brutality. This image was created after I found a dead gull, tangled in fishing line on the beach.

Thanks Yeah, I've been experimenting with colors but the initial plate texture didn't etch completely evenly so the plate's printing out quite patchy. So frustrating! If I get a decent print out of it I'll post on here.
