Description
This is an aquatint plate, ready to be printed. The image is created by hand scraping onto a copper plate which has been etched with a rough texture of fine dots, then printing the plate onto paper via a press. The more I scrape away at the rough surface of the plate, the lighter an area will print.

Currently I'm working on a project to do with the idea of nature as a contrasting collaboration of beauty and brutality. This image was created after I found a dead gull, tangled in fishing line on the beach.
