;0; This artcard was really exciting to work on! I was nervous at first because of how many details this character has, but I did a really fun gradient base coat, which set the stage and helped me place the rest of the colors and details. I did an experiment here with gouache for the highlights (instead of my usual white ink). The gouache allowed me to mix lighter colors of the base coat and use that as highlights. and i could also blend the highlight in a bit to make them look softer. I ADORE the results, and I think that the gouache adds a lot of dimension while keeping the appropriate textures. In the future I'll try to only use my white ink for parts that need sharp shiny highlights, then use my gouache for gentle soft highlights. ;3 Im super excited to start using gouache more frequently!!!

Pencil sketch > Black Copic Multiliner > flat watercolor gradients > shading more layers of watercolor gradients > gouache highlights <3
