If she's a member of my primary species of slime I've developed, then water wouldn't really *do* much to her. Their bodies are composed of silia-polymers, and are fairly hydrophobic. Sand would get in her more easily than water, but would probably be incorporated into her body.

In some situations yes, but if it's small and particulate enough it has to take a natural cycle out, eventually falling out as the cells circulate and move. If it gets buried deep enough into one of their central masses then the churning to get it out might actually cause a new mass to develop, cut off from the main one, and develop into a new slime.
