One day, when she was 7, she heard her mother scream at night. She quickly and was just in time to see her Uncle Phil fighting with her father. Aiden turned around and told her to run, but that’s when Phil stabbed him through the back. Looking around more, she noticed her mother’s body there, and a maids. Phil plants the knife in the maid’s hand, as Maria stands there unable to move from shock. He goes, grabs her, and runs outside, pretending to be distraught as the police show up. Maria, regaining herself, tries to tell the police, but her Uncle lies and informs them he got her from her bedroom, as the maid just killed herself. Maria is left with social services for about a week, and after questioning her and her Uncle, they believe him and leave her within his care. Since Aiden left everything to Maria, and Phil was now her guardian, which left everything to him by extension. When they returned to the mansion, he forced her to become his servant. Being very young, but very intelligent, she would be perfect for him, that way, he wouldn’t have to hire outside help which could potentially talk to her and discover the truth. He made her do everything, and if she messed up something (which she would because she is still a child) he would call her every dirty name in the book, call her worthless, and throw her in a pitch black room, which caused her Nyctophobia and Monophobia. Despite being forced to do all the work around the house, he also made sure to home school her. Anytime she got something wrong, it would be an hour in the darkness for each thing she got wrong. The only good thing she had was when she was gardening outside, she once saw a poor boy trying to sneak in. His name was Paul. Confronting him, he told her he just wanted food for his family, and being the kind person she is, she gave him some. He thanked her, and they got talking. They became good friends, and he would sometimes wait hours for her to come do the gardening so they could talk. Being so eager to garden, Phil spied on her and when he found she had been talking to Paul he grabbed her, and made sure she never got outside again without him being there. He locked her in the room there for a whole day for that, with minimal food and water. This was Maria’s life for 5 years. She lived in hell for 5 long years, but one day, when she was making supper, her Uncle came in, which was rare. He picked her up and put her on the counter. He looked her up and down, then tried to undress her. She pushed him off, but he kept trying to be persistent, even hitting her. He ripped her shirt open, and was just about to get her pants off when she spied the knife she was using to cut vegetables on the counter. All the rage that was inside her, built up over the last 5 years was finally released. She grabbed the knife, and stabbed it into his jugular. As he grabbed his neck, she jumped on him, and continued to stab him while screaming. She kept stabbing and stabbing until she was covered in blood, and he had stopped moving long ago. She sat there, face covered in blood and tears, and then ran outside in pouring rain. She ran right into open arms without realizing it, and squirming trying to get away, a familiar voice comforts her. Paul was there. He asked her what happened, and once she told him, he only told her that they were leaving, and that he’ll look after her. They ran off into the night, and the two disappeared for a whole year.

Adolescence/Now: A year later, Maria was now 13. She had been training herself in swordsmanship. She read all the books, memorized them, and quickly became one of the best swordsman. Paul trained as well, but was never the best. Over this time, Maria became cold and hateful to all people but Paul. She found other abandoned misfits, and eventually became the leader of a mercenary/assassin guild, with Paul at her side. He didn’t like what she had become, but he wanted to protect her. She had the biggest crush on him, but he only thought of her like a little sister. She was always afraid to tell him. They were very successful, and highly feared. For enough money, anyone could get them to eliminate their enemy. One day, they got a huge job. The whole guild was hired, but they would get more money than ever before. Obviously, she accepted. The whole guild was suited up, they met with their client, and went to the place. An abandoned warehouse. Once they got in though, it was a set up. They were swarmed with people, and arrows were flying everywhere. She was doing her best, killing all who attacked her and dodging arrows. Eventually, there was an opening, so she told Paul, and they everyone was making a break for it. As they were running, a rain of arrow was coming down on them that she didn’t see. Paul jumped on her back and shielded her. Most of her guild was killed, and Paul was dying. He told her to look after herself, before dying in her arms. She was broken there, and was easily outnumbered. She was taken to the leader, who quickly told her that he was her master, that she will call him such, and that she was now his personal assassin. Broken, she was forced to agree. She was used as a weapon, and a doormat for 5 more hellish years, committing many crimes and sins which ate at her soul. One day, she was called into his office. He thanked her for being such an obedient slave, but then tried to make the same mistake Phil did. He put his hand down to feel her up, but she backed away. Once she was backed to the wall, he groped her and tried to put his hand down her pants. She tried to grab her dagger, but he pushed her hand back onto the wall. She was wearier of her clients now, and she trusted no one. One day, a white hooded man appeared to her, and gave her a picture. She was told to eliminate this man, and she would be payed the other half upon confirmation. He then gave her $500,000. She instantly agreed, and went after the man with red eyes. Finding him, she fought him one on one. He fought like nothing she had ever seen before, but she was keeping up with him… Before he sprouted black feather wings, and his scythe was shrouded in a dark aura. He quickly dispatched her, and held his scythe to her throat. He had long black hair almost to his shoulders, sharp red eyes. He looked in her eyes, before his scythe disappeared into darkness. He told her to leave with her life while she still can. Shocked for a minute she sat still, but chased after him. No one had ever showed her such kindness. She pledged loyalty to him, calling him master, to his dismay. She didn’t trust him, but still felt she should follow him. His name was Moenark. Moenark quickly became her best friends, reminding her of Paul. He was kind, gentle, and didn’t use her at all. She developed feelings for him, but she could never have them returned, for he was already taken by another. This depressed her, but she still loved him and stayed devoted to him. The two went through a lot together, and he was even there to confront her old master when he showed back up. She may have went crazy, lost it, and critically injured Moenark, but he still stuck with her, which made her love him more. She eventually learned her mother had a sister, and that she has an Aunt and a cousin. She currently spends her days with either her Aunt Marina, learning about her mom and dad more, or with Moenark and their friends, just chilling, as their war is now over. She still calls him master, but he still doesn’t like it. Hopes for Future: To be able to spend all of her time with her friends, especially Moenark
