Description Sorry for the crappieness of the comic (curse you MS Paint!).
I like Sam but I think calling her a "Goth" is kind of a overstatement. She’s too... normal. I mean, she really doesn’t act dark or anything Goth. She seems so… happy! (You want proof? Watch the beginning of Urban Jungle.) The only things I’d consider her is a environmentalist and a tomboy.

Don’t forget to comment and tell me what you think! Enjoy!

Goth doesn't mean that your always sad or angry. It just means you love the color Black and that you like to express your individuality.

goths arent gloomy. thats "emos". but really i dislike that someone as "non conformist" as sam is conforming to the stereyotypes.

Sorry for my poor chose of words. I don't know a lot of Goths in person.
But yeah, I find her more as someone how simply dosen't have a spicific social class kind of like Danny.

Plus she always has her midriff exposed and wears a decently short skirt
And she is too nice

I'm not too sure about the shortness of clothing determine Goth-ness, But I do agree she's a bit nicer than many Goths (not that Goths are particularly mean).

I agree, she just likes dispare, agony, and so forth, doesn't mean she is. I love Urban Jungle, especially Sam's Poison Ivy get up.

yes, the Poison Ivy duds were cool! To bad she swapped it for the less-cool Maleficent look.

Yeah, I did a picture where Sam is wearing that outfit and Danny's like "She's hot." lol just for funniness.

Heehee, funny.

Not all goths are gloomy, though. And they're no different from anyone else, except for a perspective or two.

True but even for a non-gloomy Goth, Sam seems un-Goth, but that just my oppinion. Glad you enjoyed it

Sam belongs to an extremely rare sub-culture of Goths: The Eco-Goth.

Code-E In reply to 2wingo [2008-06-17 03:30:39 +0000 UTC]

Does that mean an eco-friendly Goth?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

2wingo In reply to Code-E [2008-06-17 03:38:59 +0000 UTC]

It's actually more a category of Punk subculture. It focuses on nonconformity, direct action against "The Man," and a love of the natural world. Eco-goths are often involved in Neo-Pagan religions and strongly support any animal rights activities.

Code-E In reply to 2wingo [2008-06-17 22:31:38 +0000 UTC]

That does sound a good bit like Sam (other than the pagan thing).

FeralFacade In reply to Code-E [2008-07-01 14:14:11 +0000 UTC]

well i personally think pagan beliefs would fit sam character more then being jewish. She just doesnt strike me as jewish of all things

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Code-E In reply to FeralFacade [2008-07-01 16:28:08 +0000 UTC]

Same here! Nothing against Jewish people, but she simply dosen't seem jewish. The only reason I think they did that was to be politically correct because now-a-days you can't have Christmas specials without including all the other Winter holidays.

FeralFacade In reply to Code-E [2008-07-01 21:19:51 +0000 UTC]

well they could have had her celebrate yule. thats a pagen winter holiday.

im just glad they didnt make tucker celebrate kwanza out of political correctness.

It's also why I made Sam a punk-rocker in my movie-fic series instead of a goth.

I'm actually working on a fan comic were my version of Sam is more of a punk/ tomboy than a Goth.

You are right about Sam, but she does do things that are very goth. Like her poetry, her bookstore, and her room... and the way she reacts to what her parents (*cough*MOM*cough*) try to get her to wear... Like in control Freaks...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Code-E In reply to awren [2008-06-17 03:18:19 +0000 UTC]

True, true but a lot of things she does are quit un-Goth in many instances. She seems so cheerful at the beginning of Urban Jungle that I was wandering if she was going to start singing the Sound of Music! Also she seemed at bit to chipper to me in Torrent of Terror when she tries cheering up Danny.

awren In reply to Code-E [2008-06-17 12:15:52 +0000 UTC]

You are right. She definetly doesn't deserve the term... Other goths would be utterly shocked at what she does.

paine86 [2008-03-15 17:10:06 +0000 UTC]

you have a good point but she also goes by the title and does alot of things that are still counted as gothic. I do like what she did to that dress her mom attempted to give her. i would have done the same thing with the one my mom attempted to give me but paper shredders still do the job.
*ahem* annyway. I love the comic and it suits so well. good job.
