Description
‘Get on the damn ship.’ Each word was bitten out through clenched teeth, and the dwarf could see the fires burning behind those yes. Eyes that once belonged to the one he had called friend. Eyes now reflected murderous rage.
Involuntary he took a stop back, his iron sod boots causing the plank to creak under the weight of his armor.
‘Dwarf.’ The minotaur’s lips slowly peeled back in a snarling grimace and he could see the knuckles bulge around the shaft of the great axe clenched in its massive hand. The next words came so quietly he almost missed them over the thunder of the rain. ‘Don’t do it.’
Another step back, his heart was racing in his ears and he could see the cording muscle slowly being to coil in the figure before him. A tense mountain of fury readying to unleash itself at any second. Another step.
‘Your mad!’ The words spilled out as he jerked a trembling finger as the figure took a step towards him, his free hand going to the war hammer at his belt. ‘Mad!’
The storm raged around then and for a brief instant the sky was split by a blinding light, silhouetting the monster before him.
‘No Dwarf,’ The monster rumbled, hefting its axe. ‘I am desperate.’
