Alex being a rather large bear simply walks thru every trap seemingly oblivious. Sirse waits in hiding to deliver the final attack. At the perfect time she launches shrieking like a Bedouin warrior!
Alex finally notices his foot paw is entangled in something. He stoops over as Sirse flies over his head spinning the nunchucks like a choppers rotor blade. Sirse totally missed her target crashing onto the pillows on the couch.
Alex continued his path finally reaching the kitchen.
Sirse now buried in the pillows trying to right herself heard the clacking of something being gathered in the kitchen.
Alex appeared in the doorway. His massive frame filling the void. Sirse felt a small shiver of fear down her back to her tail.
In a deep voice Alex spoke......."Hey Sirse.......you wanna a beer?"

Alex walks into the house, dodges every single trap and weapon Sirse has set for him. "Greetings. Is this your attempt to capture me? It was valiant, but now, you may not wish to engage in combat.', Alex smugly says.Β

As I drove up to the house, I sighed in contentment as I looked forward to spending the night with my mate, Sirse. Arie was staying again with Amenii and Nera as the young bunniger seemed to get along and even calm the buyena twins. Nera had requested for Arie specifically and now that she was spending time playing with the twins, Nera was actually able to get more sleep without the twins crying up a storm anytime of the night.
As I stepped up to the door, I felt loose gravel underneath my paws. "Huh? I could have sworn that the driveway was clean this morning when I left. That's strange." As I entered the doorway, I spot a dime on the floor. As I bend down to pick it up, I hear a sudden crash as something goes over my head. I immediately look up to see Sirse picking herself up from what looks like was once a chair. "Oh no! She really isn't serious-" I had no time to finish my thought as she leaped at me again, this time brandishing a pair of nunchucks, which she was spinning like propellers, aiming for my head and upper torso. I leaped to the side, rolling away from her and towards the sofa where I managed to grab a couple of the pillows to use a temporary shields.
"Sirse, that is no way to greet your mate!" I chastise her. "At least, let me get refreshed before we start my training!" It seemed my protests fell on deaf ears as she continued to stalk me, the deadly wooden implements circling like vultures. She backed me into a corner and then swung away at me. I barely managed to block them but I could feel their sting on my paws, the heavy pillows just barely protecting my paws from being fractured. As she reared back to strike again, I flung the house plant at her so that the dirt from its roots temporarily blinded her. I then quickly undid my belt and wrapped both of my paws around the ends. She again swung at me but this time I had managed to flee being trapped in the corner and dodged her strikes. On her next attack, I managed to catch the wooden sticks using the belt and yanked them free from her paws. I snagged the weapon and broke the sticks in half, making them useless to her. She immediately whirled around and ran into the hallway leading to the dining room.
I mentally sighed in resignation. I had asked her to keep me in training but I had not expected this. "Serves me right for falling in love with a fey warrior." I mutter under my breath. "Well, into the breach..." as I followed her into the house.

As Sirse had hoped Gus followed her unwittingly into the dining room. Springing forwards with delicate grace, she rolled across the floor narrowly avoiding the line of trip wire she had secured between the door frames. With a sharp twang of snapping wire the load of books wrapped in laundry detaches from the ceiling and swings like a massive pendulum towards her loverβs face.
Instinctive reflexes saved him from her initial assault, his massive paw shot out to protect his sensitive snout and sent her projectile battering ram spinning to the side. This was all the distraction she needed for the second phase of her trap to kick in. Whine building the rug in the main hall lurched backwards, drawn to the wall through many little hooks painstakingly attached to one side leading up to a winch and pully system Sirse had bolted to the wall studs. As the rug jerked out from under her victims feet, Sirse flashed her lover a knowing smile, as thought to say. βGottcha.β In silent mockery.
Feet disappearing beneath him, Gusβs eyes went wide in terror as his massive body combined with his height standing erect came crashing down. Only as his arch to earth began did Sirse realize her miscalculation as she had inadvertently left herself in the direct line of path of her victim. Claws shooting out she dropped to all fours and attempted to flee. Lack of friction, combined with the freshly waxed wooden floors were against her though and realizing she was not going to make her mark, Sirse threw herself onto her back, shot her legs up and braced for the bodily crushing impact.
Fur covered her, and for a moment she could hear nothing, see nothing, only the great shaggy coat of her lover and the impossible crushing weight pressing her deeper into the darkness. From far away she swore she heard some deep popping noise, though she knew not where it was from.

Cursing at my clumsiness and for falling for her rug trap so easily, I picked myself up quickly off Sirse to check if she had any injuries. Thankfully she had none and I looked around me. Suddenly I realized my misfortune. And that was when I picked her up and pinned her to my side under one arm. I was seething. "Now look what you made me do," I growled. "You made me spill my coffee!" I said as I picked up the container where it had fallen with the top off. I quickly checked it and saw there was at least an eighth of its original volume still in it. I slowly sipped at it while trying to keep my anger in check.
"The one cup of java I'm allowed a day and I lose almost all of it. At the same time, I almost hurt you. Not a good start to the day." I snarled.
I actually had been in a good mood as I had come from my doctor who was amazed that my blood pressure had normalized. I didn't tell him but I suspected that the adventures at Isla Nublar along with the long cold swim back to shore was probably the cause of it. I was hoping to share with her the news when she caught me off guard with her devious traps. To be fair, I should have expected it but I was not in the mood at that moment.

His rage was apparent in every motion of his body, tucking her under his muscular arm she cringed as the muscles closed around her like an iron vice, squeezing her until it hurt. Her arms were pinned behind her and he had given her no sign that he intended to release her from his strangle hold despite her attempts to wriggle free.
Their game of predator in the jungle had drawn to a sudden and rapid close. The outcome had not been as she expected and with the loss of his coffee Gus was in a foul mood. Holding her like a sack of potatoes made any means of communication difficult, her arms were out of his sight, sticking out behind him, and without her phone she had no means of communicating with him to express her sorrow over the loss of his coffee. Sirse was not one to forget how important Gusβs coffee was to him and regretted not having started a pot before setting up her plan of attack.
Limited in what she could do, Sirse let herself go limp. With luck her loverβs anger would fade, eventually. Then she would be able to make amends for her actions, somehow.

Trust me, growing up in a house where thus is common it's a lot less fun than it sounds. You are on constant guard, and paranoia is second nature.
