Description And now, the last but not least of the CodeHunters, SORA.

The scanner made this pic bigger than the others, and resizing it made the outlines look wonky, so that’s why they look like that.

“About a month before Josh was born, a friend of his father’s made a special computer program as a gift. It was an AI program that the user to ‘talk’ to. The program was called SORA – Speaker Only Responds Artificially.

“Over the years, Josh used this program a lot. He even figured out how to upgrade it and improve its AI and even giving it a voice, making it seem more lifelike. When Josh got his own laptop computer, he transferred SORA onto it. It- she became a friend to him.

“On the day that Josh was transported to the Nintendo dimension, the laptop was in his backpack, and came with him there. Months later, after Neko and Ryo had joined Josh, the SORA program wished she could have a body so she could play with Josh more, not just when he was on the computer. Josh thought hard, and came up with an idea.

“Josh took his laptop to Dr. Light in the Capcom dimension. If anyone could create a body for SORA, it would be the best robot-creator in video games. However, when Josh got there, Dr. Light said he was too busy trying to come up with something to create for the Annual Inventors’ Symposium in a few months. Josh didn’t want to disappoint a friend, so he made a suggestion to Dr. Light. A bio-android – an artificial life-form that eats, sleeps, and breathes like it was an actual human. (Yes, like on Outlaw Star. That’s where he got it.) Josh had two conditions: Dr. Light would use the SORA program for the android’s mind, and the android could live with him. Dr. Light accepted. Josh bid a temporary farewell to SORA, and left Dr. Light to his work.

A few more months later, Josh and friends were invited to the Inventors’ Symposium as Dr. Light’s guests. They attended, and when Dr. Light was up, they finally got to see SORA’s new body: A beautiful young girl with long black hair. When the symposium ended, Dr. Light kept his promise and let SORA go to live with Josh and the others.”

Now that she wasn’t an AI chat program, SORA’s acronym was changed to “Simply One Rockin’ Android”.

SORA, like Dot, was another character I created before I came up with the CodeHunters, except she was a regular girl and not an android, and her name wasn’t all caps. However, I liked the character and wanted to bring her into this new group of characters.

Her character design was meant to somewhat resemble Rinoa from Final Fantasy 8, what with the black hair and blue clothes. Rinoa was the first RPG character I renamed Sora, and I decided to incorporate that into her design. Her music note charm necklace was inspired by Banjo-Kazooie, and her hammer was inspired by Ice Climber.
