Again excellent though I think I prefer the other by just a tad. Again your exposure here is perfect. I do have one suggestion--watch the noise reduction in the sky, your clouds on the left (especially) are looking a tad soft. Other than that, wunderbar foto!

cody29 In reply to kkart [2006-09-13 15:04:34 +0000 UTC]

I think the noise is from the postprocessing (read some comments below), the original file hasn't got such a dark sky. But I'm glad that I've taken the RAW format to get this picture. I'll have a look to the big size pic and try to remove the noise. Thanks for your comment.

kkart In reply to cody29 [2006-09-13 15:06:43 +0000 UTC]

Oh it's not the noise at all. ....in fact that is a non-issue. It is just the softness that the noise reduction created in the clouds. What are you using for noise reduction?

cody29 In reply to kkart [2006-09-14 07:32:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I just missunderstood your first comment. After I read it again I know what you're meaning.
I didn't use a noise reduction on this pic at all. Only the downscaling to 800 pixel. In the original picture the sky is very lighted. While postprocessing I darkened it, so that's perhaps the explaination why the clouds look softed.

Do you know another language from English? Please? I do get so many notes that say:"My English terrible."

cody29 In reply to Newbie-Help [2006-09-14 07:34:22 +0000 UTC]

But I did understand you correctly. My native language is German and there we didn't say goose flash but goose skin.

Newbie-Help In reply to cody29 [2006-09-14 21:33:36 +0000 UTC]

Actually it was not goose flash, but goose flesh, as in goose skin. Same thing.

German? Deutschlander! Ich spreche keine Deutsch! Nicht kleine, keine.

May I send newcomers who speak German to you? I do not expect very many, or very often. But may I?

how do you do that?? it is beutifull i mean the colours of the simply motive (btw nice house )..a really like your style and i really dont have a clue how does your post production of photos goes

cody29 In reply to Luzdi [2006-09-13 10:03:00 +0000 UTC]

It's not that simple, but also not difficult. So let me explain what I've done with this pic. I use the Gimp, but i think you can do it with any other software, too.
At first, I shot in RAW. Then i developed two version of this picture. One with good sky, one with well exposured foreground.
Then I take the Gimp and put these to pictures into two layers. With a layermask and a black-white gradient you can blend the two layers. A tutorial can be found here: [link]
The I increased the saturation using a saturation mask. A german tutorial can be found here: [link] or try to google with "saturation mask"
Then I increased the local contrast using an unsharp Mask with a small amount (20%) and a big radius (60)
So that's all I've done.
If you got more questions you are invited to ask here
