Description A piece of local and sort of unknown railroad history, the Hagerstown and Frederick Railway. The H&F was formed in 1896 with the merger of the Hagerstown Railway, Frederick Railway, and Frederick & Middletown Railway. with the growing popularity of the automobile, the H&F started to decline in the 1930's. World War 2 gave the Railway a second wind as gas and rubber rations made more people take the trolley. After the war, the H&F was back on the decline, this time there would be no saving grace. in 1954, the last passenger run was made by Trolley 171, shortly there after, the wires came down and diesels were purchased (2 Whitcomb 65ton centercabs). in 1961, the H&F was shut down all together.

Combine 168. 168 was built for the H&F by J.G.Brill Company in 1917 and is one of only 3 surviving H&F cars.
