First, the good. I like the coloring and the style. They feel very organic, very natural. I also like the way that you portray anthro in the picture- it's not over the top, but at the same time its not so minimalistic that I wondered why you bothered.
Now for the negative. I really only had one big beef with the image. Her tears are very obvious- and given the contents of the message, my first thought was that the sender had died before actually seeing her. It was only on my second and third looks over the image that I noticed the smile on her face. If you revisit the piece, I would recommend that you make that line a little more pronounced.
