Comin' at you from !
I think in general this is a pretty solid photo. I believe, in my personal opinion, that it's biggest weakness is the darkness of the photo! It isn't necessarily that it lacks any places that are pure white, but rather that it seems the sort of photos where, while there is a definite focus on the cat, you might also be intrigued by the little details surrounding the animals. That's part of what seems to make this photo more interesting: the focus on the cats' chosen resting location. Unfortunately, it's fairly difficult to see it because of the darkness!
I think this photo would benefit greatly from increasing the lightness/brightness of the photo (which may in turn pick up some of the contrast, which might look good too!)
Otherwise I really like it! Good work!

They are absolutely adorable. As for the appropriate-ness of the spot, they are cats and there for ANY spot is appropriate no matter the "human's" opinion on the matter.
Trust me, my cat is the same way.

I know that that is their opinion, but we try to have rules, not succesfully!

First, I find this photograph absolutely delightful! It's spontaneous, which captures art/life as it happens, the kittens were not staged, posed, or made to look cute for the camera. Instead, the two felines are just doing what felines do, enjoy their royalty.
Producing the photo in black and white gives a very calming effect. It's easy on the eyes, and it allows the onlooker to experience the same drowsiness as the kittens. I also like how you filled the window with your subjects and their perch. There are no unwanted or distracting objects in the background to take ones attention from the kittens.
The fragile objects in which the kittens surround, does add a bit of unease as well; those who know cats grin while at the same time they ponder, "what's gonna happen?"
As far as improvements are concerned I'm not sure any need to be made here. I do not believe lighting or shading effects need to be added, no editing of any kind needs to be used.
Life happens and sometimes it happens right!
Fantastic photograph!
