Description Now that MLP is finally ending, I might as well put this idea out here. See, around the time I discovered MLP, I also discovered Warhammer Fantasy. Combining those, I had a vision on what the lands to the east would be like. With canon in mind and a brain fueled by nostalgia, I’ve decided to put this world (at least, part of it) on a map via Inkarnate (inkarnate.com/ ).

Note: Some of these nations I’ve taken from work on his “Equestria Expanded” series. If you’re an MLP fan who needs some fan lore, that’s the guy for you.

Now, the history!

In the few hundred years after the Great Pony Migration from Faustia to Equestria, other species rose up and took power. From what was once the mighty empire of Pegasi Empire, the magical Unicorn Kingdom, and the hard working Earth Pony Republic came the Midgardian Empire, a realm of humans, elves, dwarves, and beastmen.

In time, griffons and reindeer had carved their own nations and by that point, Nightmare Moon was sealed away, leaving Princess Celestia in a coma of depression. Seeing opportunity, the disgraced knight Jewel Crest gathered an army of thousands of starving and desperate ponies and sallied forth to the continent of their ancestors. Officially, to save their kin from being slaughtered and enslaved. Unofficially, Crest saw himself as the next in line for the Equestrian throne and to prove it, he would conquer an entire continent.

The resulting Year of Strife was one of sorrow. The population in the griffon kingdoms and realms of men declined rapidly due to the constant raids of Equestrians. The pony kingdoms that were sworn to be protected were razed and pillaged on all fronts. Enemies were made in the form of King Louie the Unifier and Emperor Karla I, of which the two would hold the enemy forces back at the Battle of the Red Canyon. Celestia, finally out of her coma, revealed herself to Crest and killed him on the spot, forcing the other ponies who were merciful to leave whist the others fought the griffons and humans to the last stallion.

A sacred vow to Faust Herself was made that day by griffons, humanoids, deer, and free ponies; “Equestian blood will never again encroach on Faustia. One hoof away from Sacred Griffonstone will be payed with blood.” 999 years have passed since then...

Well, onto the nations!

Griffonia: The homeland of griffons and birthplace of chivalry, the Kingdom of Griffonia was founded following the fall of the Equestrian invaders by King Louie Goldclaw I. He and his descendants have made sure that Griffonia and its citizens would never be invaded again, practically installing a cult of chivalry into its people. Following an assassination of the previous king, King Gustav II rules the Kingdom until his niece, Princess Victoria, comes of age.
- Prance: Once the capital of the unicorns, it’s now the center of the Faustian Church and a Griffonian vassal.
- Canterbury: A mysterious land shrouded in fog, Canterbury is the mythical home of the Lady of the Lake as well as her Grail Knights.

The Empire of Man: The Midgardian Empire, or simply the Empire of Man, is a confederation of unity and culture. United by Emperor Karla I, the Empire expands from the Jotun Mountains to the Helheim Mountains. It’s culture during this time helped pave the way for modern magical studies on the continent and military tactics, especially when it comes to gunpowder. Currently, Emperor Wilhelm Augustus III rules the Empire with a firm hand.
- Midland: Capital province of the Empire and homeland of humanity.
- Trotterdam: Last city of the Faustian earth ponies, known for their warlike culture and agrarian society.
- Vanaheim: Forest realm of elves and lupine beastmen ruled by the human kings of Mercia.
- Asgard: Icy lands of the northern tribes of humans that worship nameless gods of the elements.
- Jotunheim: Ancient mountainous land of the dwarves who protect the land from southern invaders from the Thesian Desert.
- Coltstantinople: The only city that survived the fall of the pegasi empire, it’s famed for their gem trade and infamous theater.

Muskovy: A northern nation of snow and ice, Muskovy is home to the reindeer people and the birthplace of ice magic. Always on guard for threats beyond the Jotun Mountains, the Muskovite military is half armored cavaliers and half mage soldiers. Culturally, the reindeer are a religious and superstitious folk, mainly due in part by the fearsome beasts that prowl the shores and forests. Currently, Czarina Dancer rules kind-heartedly to her people yet fearsomely attacks her foes, be they rebels or monsters. Alongside her is Prince Duncan of Griffonia, who abandoned his birthright to be with the one he loves.

Maretonia: The greatest city of the free ponies, Maretonia is closed to all outsiders in fear on sharing the last pony kingdoms. The only things that come out of it are pirates and diplomats. However, those of the kingdoms of griffons and men are welcome into the city, though under the careful watch of the knights of St. Hardheart. Those who came back reported streets paved in gold, stalls filled with trinkets more advanced than anything the Empire’s best engineers (both human and dwarf) can produce, and the best operas and plays are produced here.

Zebrica: East of the Thesian Desert and Saddle Arabia lies the lands of the south, home of dragons and zebras. Not many make trips to these parts without serious purpose, and even then most do not return.
