Description The RuneScape alternative to Colonel Knight Rider has arrived in Hero Forge!

It had been eight years since the assassination of Guthix, the God of Nature and Balance, and the resurgence of the God Wars on the planet Gielinor.  But, because Gielinorian adventurers seldom age past their twenties or thirties, Sir Robert Hamish MacRune, devoted knight of Saradomin, the God of Order and Wisdom, had not biologically aged either.  The manipulative Zaros, the God of Fate and Control, interrupted a holy ceremony for Saradomin's knights and stole his crown, revealing that he had allowed Saradomin to possess it ten millennia prior, when the Lord of Light was still a mortal man, so someone would keep watch over it until Zaros could use it for some sort of plan without clarifying his full intent.  One of Zaros's demon henchmen then revealed that he had disguised himself as the leader of the Saradominist Temple Knights and used them to push a Zarosian agenda throughout history without their knowledge.  Suddenly, most of the Temple Knights found themselves hypnotized by Zaros's loyalty aura and began to teleport away.  Enraged by Zaros's actions, Rob fought and killed three of his own mesmerized brethren.  Horrified immediately afterwards, he dropped the Godsword—the only weapon able to kill Zamorak, the God of Chaos and Destruction—which fell into a portal opened by the Empty Lord, who would later vanish from the planet.  His suit of armor also jumped right off his body and ran to join Zaros, after which it dissolved into shadowy smoke and disappeared.

As war with the Elder Gods commenced to save Gielinor from being destroyed by their rebirthing cycle, Rob retained whatever Elder God weapons and armor he could find in the submerged city of Senntisten, the once-capital of the Zarosian Empire lost to the God Wars, and fought the Elder Gods' armies and champions head-on over the next year.  Meanwhile, he was tormented in between battles by visions of his emotions dressed as his former self as well as of his brethren dying at the hands of Zamorak, Zaros, and other foes.  Oh, and he stopped shaving his beard and cutting his hair regularly because #beardofsorrow .

After Zamorak betrayed and left the god squad that was working together to keep the Elder Gods from making contact with their eggs to begin their rebirthing cycle, Saradomin's adopted human daughter, Adrasteia, set foot on Gielinor to help against her overprotective father's wishes.  The end of the Senntisten conflicts soon lead to the presumed death of Jas, the eldest of the Elder Gods, and the transportation of the Elder God eggs by Seren, the Crystal Goddess of the Elves, to the distant planet of Iaia.  There, the rebirthing cycle caused the destruction of all local life but left the new Elder Gods in a weakened state because they hadn't been reborn in a perfect world like Gielinor, so Seren could control them indefinitely.

The extinction event left Rob without armor, though he survived from being enchanted by Guthix at the time of the green giant's death, unaware that this enchantment's ultimate purpose was to re-banish Gielinor's major gods without the need for anyone to control it.  Back on Gielinor, Rob discovered to his shock that Zamorak's demon armies were taking advantage of the other gods' war-weary forces.  Thus, he girded himself with a slain guard captain's armor and weapons from his hometown of Lumbridge and journeyed into the Zamorakian Undercity below Senntisten, which was founded when Zamorak, once a mortal servant of Zaros, shattered his master's physical body, absorbed the released divine energy, and became a god himself.  With no ability to select which major gods to banish, Rob battled the chaotic god who orchestrated his grandfather's death at the talons of the now-deceased vampire ruler Lord Drakan and channeled Guthix's enchantment into giant rune stones that reestablished Guthix's Edicts, banishing Zamorak before his eyes to the demon world of Infernus—unfortunately without killing him.  Knowing that the other major gods would also disappear, Rob bade a heartfelt farewell to Saradomin, who, regaining some of the humanity he had not felt for eons, gave his devoted knight a warm hug and broadcasted to all his followers that Adrasteia was to succeed him as high queen of the three Saradominist Kingdoms: Misthalin, Asgarnia, and Karandin.

While continuing to defend the three kingdoms against Zamorak's divided forces, Rob lost his armor and weapons yet again in the desolate Wilderness, then later recounted his story to Adrasteia.  Following a meaningful conversation, Rob realized the Godsword abandoned him because of his consuming anger.  He knelt at the altar in Saradomin's throne room to determine its whereabouts, and Adrasteia lead the fight to guard Falador Castle from advancing Zamorakian armies, collapsing with exhaustion and relief upon killing a leftover denizen of Infernus.  Rob's prayers took him on an astral journey through spectacular landscapes beyond to a wise old monk in a monastery, who instructed him to prepare a spicy sailfish soup.  The result tasted terribly because Rob had neglected one key ingredient: his sense of balance.  Relinquishing his anger, which manifested as memories of several evildoers he fought in the past—including, of course, Zamorak—Rob regained that balance and was transported to a heavenly realm, where Saradomin as well as Armadyl, God of Justice and Diplomacy, and Azzanadra, a dedicated Zarosian servant who ascended to godhood by accident, restored his appearance as a clean-shaven Saradominist knight.  They finally reunited him with a reforged Godsword mostly as shown above but with more Saradominist iconography, now further empowered by his own balanced spirit, before returning him to Gielinor.  When Adrasteia asked what was next, Rob smiled with revitalized confidence.

"Aku… oops, I mean, Zamorak."
