WOO! My first polymer clay fairy in over a year! I think it's safe to say I still got it! After getting WRECKED by season 6 of Voltron, I got inspired to make fairies again! So I started with everyone's favorite Space Princess, Allura! Let me tell you I am PROUD of this one! I had fun blending the different colors of clay together even though it made my palms sore. Worth it!
I also loved playing with her color palette of Pink, White, Blue, and Gold; as well as adding in a little bit of opal with the wings to really make her look ethereal and otherworldly. And to keep with the otherworldly theme, I made her hair out of pure pearlescent white polymer clay instead of regular white, and made sure to make it as flowey and wavy as possible. And you bet I had fun completely drenching the whole thing, dress and wings , in gold and white pearl ex powder which makes it EVEN MORE SPARKLY!
As for the face, her facial features are hand painted on and same goes for the wooden plaque she's mounted on. I painted it to look like the vast, infinite star-scape that is outer space and painted a gold boarder around it to match! And on the back I painted the plaque galaxy as well and painted "Allura" on the back in big pink fancy letters! Whenever I made a fairy, I would come up with a name and paint it on the back of the plaque and half the work was already done for me so I figured why not! And it looks really nice! Unfortunately I tried putting in multiple pictures so that I could actually show you, but no way I did it looked good! Which was very infuriating. However, I do have the other pictures along with this one up on her etsy listing (yes I'm selling her) So feel free to check it out if your'e interested in adding this to your voltron shrine!
