Description

Of all the things I have ever done for , this is by far the weirdest, and shows what a fertile mind this man has.

It sounds like the kind of thing that would come out of Star Trek, but the universe is a mystery and it is great that people like can explore this with his mind and present us with his imagination.

When I was doing this, the task appeared impossible; I searched the net for ideas and things similar - and found nothing; so I decided to play about with the elements laid down.

The thing nearly became a glass ball and looked so wrong but close to what was wanted - but it was the installation of a Nebulae and broken worlds that made this picture. loved it - it made us think that there is "something" in there - and the slight circumference of eerie energy around the region added to the mystery.

Job DONE!

Love to hear your thoughts - comment damn welcome

Enjoy!

SDH-219-0026 (Purgatory): An anomaly among even the most unusual stellar objects discovered, the coordinates to Purgatory are so closely-guarded that even Interstellar Patrol navigational computers do not contain them.

Contrary to conspiracy theories, this is predominantly for safety reasons; the area in question is a two parsec sphere where the fabric of space/time is mangled, rife with temporal tears in the form of time loops, stopped and/or accelerated time flow, and even bizarre gaps where space/time β€œskips.”

By all possible measurement, the source of the temporal damage is from a G2/K5 binary system in the centre.

Speculation on the origin is rampant, the most prominent being that a sufficiently advanced civilization waged a vicious civil war using weapons capable of altering the local quantum state.

A close second is that the temporal damage is in fact a guardian mechanism that is sealing something inside the star system from outside space.

I love both speculations: the first one makes me wonder who advanced civilization could have been and the second makes me wonder just what it is keeping the universe safe from.

Both intrigue me.

tonystardreamer In reply to Colourbrand [2014-05-01 22:10:08 +0000 UTC]

Who knows, the truth might be a bit of both; two incredibly advanced civilizations fighting such a vicious war that a higher being or civilization, out of fear that they would destroy the universe locked them both in this quantum state altering anomaly, the two stars in the binary system representing the two sides. The possibilities are endless.

Now all I can do is wonder what the thing was that put the two sides into it.

A couple of great "what-if" possibilities there! If it's a prison for... something... whatever's in there is hideously dangerous. Which of course means some well-meaning fool of a scientist will want to go have a look.

"Strange... the signal is in over 47,000 known languages - current and extinct - and it says the same thing, over and over: 'Stay Away!' Should we even be going in there, Professor?"

"Of course we should! That signal is just someone's idea of a joke..."

Not long after that, the screaming starts... Some people are just too damned dumb to survive.
