The KAR-Mk V was developed shortly after the introduction of the M95A1, as a more potential replacement for the entire KAR-21 system. However due to budget issues the LSW variant, which was designed to operate on an open bolt, was cut in favor of a joint DMR/LSW variant. It was quickly adopted by several special forces units who praised it's lightweight and ruggedness of the short stroke piston. It is expected to make it's mainline combat debut in the summer of 2019.This rifle is kind of a big deal for me cause its my first real curved mag.
