I've wanted to post this for awhile.It's a scene from the movie Jarhead, when the main character realizes joining the Marine Corps just might have been a mistake.

Nowdays, by law the DI's aren't aloud to physically touch you. See like in that picture the DI would get in big trouble for that. Anyway its a great movie.

luckily things have changed and bootcamp isn't as...hazardous as it once was
they weren't even allowed to do those things when the book was written, the drill instructor that did that was reassigned to a different platoon and punished later

it's a great film. more or less deals with the soldier's mentality out of combat rather than in battle.
the waiting, the idleness, the mind-fucking nature of the unknown...
