Well, here it is: the result of all my dilly-dallying and procrastination. Beyond Genesis. It's not a perfect space scene, but I'm not a perfect sci-fi artist, or anything else for that matter. Still, I'm proud of what it is: a major accomplishment and a milestone for me. It feels like just yesterday I was rendering clouds and using the spherize effect to make a planet.

As usual, all the work on this image was done in Paint.NET, the wonderful free image editing tool.
I'd like to give a shoutout to everyone on the Paint.NET forum [link] who helped me and gave me critical feedback. Two members in particular, Cazaron and Goonfella, helped me come up with a name, an art which has always eluded me. Guys, if you two have DevART pages, post here to let me know and I'll link to them.
