Description This is my latest Paint.NET space creation. It's a long shot from my early attempts [link] , ain't it?

It's not a perfect picture, but I think it's a good example of what I'm learning in the planet creation process.

A big thank you to Alyn for your sexy planet tutorial.

Quite Nice

Quite a rare occasion seeing a planet with double-sided lighting.

I like how one side is a nice cool blue while the other is a sunrise yellow. I also like the background, especially the nebula.

Yeah, i've been busy with high school. Between that, AIM, and Facebook no one leaves me with enough time to check here as often as I would like. I also took up some fun hobbies, such as amateur DJing [FUELING SWEET RAVE PARTIES] and I became the Manager and Webmaster and DJ and producer and recording studios and... everything that everyone else doesn't do, for a band. If that's not enough, I've started to learn German and I have to work twice as hard as to not get it confused with my Spanish class...

So how have you been?

LJXD [2009-01-08 01:08:35 +0000 UTC]

Wow, is this 100% PDN or was there some brushes or stocks?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

commandersozo In reply to LJXD [2009-01-08 01:17:56 +0000 UTC]

Essentially, I followed the Photoshop process for creating a scene like this, and translated it into Paint.NET actions. So, beyond the planet "stocks" (texture maps of Mercury, the moon, Mars, and Io), no, no stock stuff. The nebula was done in PdN, as were the stars, glows, and the planet assembly, coloration, and texturing. No brushes though.
