Number 8 for the 100 Themes Challenge: Innocence.I guess I should put spoilers around this... But you can't really tell what's happening from the picture unless you already know what happened. (convoluted sentences ftw) Yeah, I kind of purposely panned up from the... problem area near Rue's stomach. Also, sorry if any details are off- I drew this purely by memory.

Rue in the official movie is Amandla Stenberg, who is just about the most adorable thing on the planet. Which means this scene will be all the more heartbreaking...

i have a local newspaper thats said something about rue sum it up shortly people said her dying would have been less sad if she was not black some people would not watch the movie cuz rue was black that got me angry. beautiful piece i love it this is my new wallpaper for my lap top beautiful beautiful beautiful i really love it i teared looking at it

How do I not have this favorited already? It's an absolutely beautiful drawing, with lovely shading, amazing intricacy on the hair and flowers, and such a poignant meaning. One of the best Katniss and Rue pictures I have seen. I would favorite this twice if I could!

Happens so fast yet in a split second you realize its too late. Marvel is dead and soon to follow is Rue. Proof that Katniss is still human enough to grant Rue the dignity she deserves in death. Beautifully colored... it looks as one would imagine such a moment. Its only later that Katniss fully unbends a further sign that the death has cost her yet if she can cry than all is not lost.
