Thank you! It is not based on a fan fiction, just my idea of sesshomaru being protective of his brother (and he only shows it when Inuyasha is unaware of it)

Love Sesshy's eyes, its like he is saying "whoever did this will die" and I think he does care for InuYasha in his own way.  Its just a lot different than most brothers behave because they were half siblings and not raised together or anything so that bond never formed properly.  By the end of the manga he had come around to thinking Inu deserved the Tesseiga and was his fathers son.  That was the major problem they had to overcome to be family.  Rin helped a lot too because she taught Sesshomaru how to love and care for someone else.  That opened his heart to be able to let Inu in.  I can see this eventually happening between them.  This is a beautiful piece of artwork and very well done.  I love how you made Inu in his human form because that is the only time he could be defeated and the time he would need his brother the most, and in spite of his feelings for humans Sesshomaru saved him.

i don't think care is the right word to use when talking about sesshomaru's feelings towards inuyasha i think respect fits better. and i have read the manga and watched the anime.

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-19 12:34:12 +0000 UTC]

why you do not think this? There were reasons why Sesshomaru was resentful towards Inuyasha: their father sacrificed himself to save Inuyasha and his mother, Inuyasha did not help during during attacks from demons from other regions. I would not say he hates Inu, he just think of him as unworthy to be his father's son and that Inuyasha is better off dead. And before the second part of the manga Sesshomaru is right about Inuyasha. There are people so dumb they are incapable to do anything except causing damage to themselves and others. A cinical person would think the same. Apart from that is mostly brotherly competition.

I don’t think sesshomaru hates inuyasha either (at the end of the series) and maybe there’s a tiny part of him that cares for inuyasha but I still think respect fits better. He definitely doesn’t love him or anything:/ And I’m not really sure what you mean by “There are people so dumb they are incapable to do anything except causing damage to themselves and others” are you talking about inuyasha? and i dont get how sesshomaru is right about that?

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-21 06:50:28 +0000 UTC]

Yes, about Inuyasha but also in general. There are plenty of people not thinking ahead at all and denying responsibility for their own actions in today's world. And unfrtunately the laws make it easier for them. And Seshomaru is right about this in many ways. Inuyasha puts lots of people in danger because he acts rash and impulsive. Yes, he manages to sort things in the end many times but this is not  a rule. Also men show they care for each other in different ways than women do (although... all women hate each other in their hearts).

kumens In reply to NightcrawlerCyp [2017-12-21 10:28:31 +0000 UTC]

Inuyasha is impulsive but he always has good intentions and it’s usually always so he can protect his friends and sesshomaru can be just as impulsive!! But yes people show there care in different ways but it’s kind of sad that he loves rin and cares for her more than his own brother.

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-22 11:46:01 +0000 UTC]

You know what they say about the road to hell right? About being about protecting his friends that is not correct for the time before he met Kagome. Seshomaru is much more calculate. Remember his talk with Bokuseno. Rin is like his daughter, Inu is his little half brother. All older brother torment they younger ones for various reasons including the fact that younger brothers tend to be really annoying until they get their shit together.

kumens In reply to NightcrawlerCyp [2017-12-22 16:31:54 +0000 UTC]

Sesshomaru is more calculated but he’s still just as reckless, in chapter 12 he literally killed someone for standing in front of him?? Maybe in some families the older brothers do torment the younger ones but it’s still not right. And Sesshomaru has done way more to inuyasha then just “torment” him. :/

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-22 19:16:06 +0000 UTC]

Well, I think it is right. It prepares them for the real world. It is a tough world and one must be prepared to fight, but not start fights for no reason. Is hard to explain but men do work better like this: challenging each other, point out our mistakes. And about Sesshomaru, he is a demon. One should not judge him by human norms. Remember Ginka and Kinka? Do you think they hated each other? But they did try to kill each other. And except the battle at the grave when he loses his arm Seshomaru does not do tat much to Inuyasha.

kumens In reply to NightcrawlerCyp [2017-12-22 22:10:33 +0000 UTC]

You are right, one does need to be prepared for the real world but trying to kill your own brother still isn’t right. I’m sure inuyasha would have been much better off if sesshomaru took him in and trained him. He would have learned more if sessomaru had became a mentor instead of another one of his enemies. And I judge humans and demons pretty much the same because they really aren’t that different. And yes I remember ginka and kinka and I do think they hated each other. But I don’t think they felt that way because there were demons. Do you remember hiten manten? They clearly loved each other and you could tell because hiten completely broke down when manten was killed. And sesshomaru did a lot to inuyasha, he treated him
Like he was less then because he was a half demon, he teamed up with naraku to kill him and he also got a demon to pretend to be inuyasha dead mother and he did plenty of other things and showed no remorse for it

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-23 08:48:43 +0000 UTC]

1. demon world is ruled by strength. if Inuyasha proved himself to be too weak being killed by his brother rather than shamefully killed by some low class demon would be better. It would not tarnish the family honor.
2. In the manga Mouryomaru only absorbs Ginka and Kinka lets himself be absorbed by Tetsuaiga. The speach from Ginka and the fact that Ginka attacks Mouryomaru from inside each time Inuyasha attacks with flaming Tetsuaiga shows how much they cared for each other.
3. Hiten and Manten .  cannot tell much about them because they lived for just a a few chapters in the manga.
4. he was less because he was a half demon
5. Seshomaru did not team up with Naraku. He just used the arm Naraku gave him.
6. Well, Seshomaru truly hated Inuyasha's mother. Also he was desperate to find he tomb of his father.
7. Demons hardly ever show remorse. Rin was the only one that made Seshomaru show remorse.

kumens In reply to NightcrawlerCyp [2017-12-23 12:13:56 +0000 UTC]

1. The demon world isn’t just ruled by strength and I’m sure tarnishing the family honor would be the last thing inuyasha would care about if someone were to kill him. Inuyasha never knew his father and sesshomaru hates him I doubt he would care about the families honor
2. / 3 How can you tell if ginka and kinka cared for each and not hiten and maten they were both in the manga for a few chapters ?
4. still doesn’t make it right to treat him badly because of the way he was born.
5. They did basically team up? Naraku gave sesshomaru the arm to kill inuyasha and then he gave him the wasp to help him, they were both in agreement
6. So it’s ok for sesshomaru to get a demon to pretend to be inuyasha dead mother because he wanted to basically rob his fathers grave??
7. Shippo shows his emotions all the time? Being emotion less isn’t just a demon thing. and yes rin was the only one sesshomaru showed remorse to, I thought that maybe after experiencing those feeling he would have felt just a little remorse for how he treated inuyasha but I guess not……..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-24 10:10:38 +0000 UTC]

1. Seshomaru cares about family honor. That was the point.
2/3 Ginka ad Kinka have a long speech when they die about this and the narator points this out explicitely too. Manten was extremely envious of his brother and Hiten only shows he cares about Manten when Maten dies.
4. Never said it was right. That is debatable. I said it was logical.
5. That is not teaming up. You do not understand what teaming up means. Seshomaru used the arm because it was useful to him. That is it. He even has a nasty remark saying that he knows Naraku uses him and that this is nt teaming up, just a one time thing. It also implies Seshomaru does not like Naraku got involved between him and Inuyasha and that he would have tried to kill Naraku afterwards even if he did not betray him. So I do not see this as teaming up.
6. No. It is not ok. It is normal and understandable behavior for any demon.
7. Shippo is a child. Weak demons and children tend to appear to be more emotional and human like and more friendly. But it is mostly a survival strategy. Also Shippo is a kitsune. It is a type of demon that enjoys playing innocent tricks on humans generally pretending to be humans.
7.2 Well you cannot expect him to feel remorse to what he did to Inuyasha before Rin. That is part of the past.

*Note that I am not defending Seshomaru and I am not a fan, but I understand as an adult dealing with irresponsible and dumb people everyday (most of them are managers) his way of thinking.

kumens In reply to NightcrawlerCyp [2017-12-24 13:44:06 +0000 UTC]

1. Ok I guess to him that matters more then his brother
2. In my opinion hiten and maten cared more about each other then ginka and kinka at least they weren’t trying to constantly kill each other. And you talked about there speech before they passed on but doesn’t that mean they only showed that they cared for each When they were both about to die?? that’s the same as hiten and maten.
3.  i don’t think it’s in anyway way logical that’s your brother?? Your own flesh and blood....
4. Yes but even the title of the episode in the anime is naraku and sesshomaru join forces.? Maybe team up isn’t the right word but the point is naraku gave sesshomaru a new arm to kill inuyasha and sesshomaru accepted.
5. I don’t think it’s understandable at all. I don’t think sesshomaru does things like that simple because he is a demon he does them because he kinda has a god complex a lot of demons in inuyasha do
6. Ok but the point I was trying to make was that all demons weren’t like that
7. He was able to feel remorse for rin why not his own brother? I just feel like his character would have been better if he was shown to feel just a little regret over how he treated inuyasha. Because i’m sure he would be angry if someone treated rin the way he treated inuyasha.

*****. I understand what you mean tbh I like both of these characters and I just wanted there relationship to have more development!!

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-25 08:29:07 +0000 UTC]

3. step brother. More than that they have the same father not the same mother. Step brothers with the same father but different mothers are not generally friendly because the competition between the mothers for the father's attentions leaks out onto them. This only works out if the first wife dies and then the father marries another woman. But Seshomaru's mother is still alive when the manga happens. Think about this: Is like Inu Taisho deserted him and his mother to marry someone else and have a child with her. Insult to the injury the women for which they were dumped was lower status. Also since most of the body of the child comes from the mother... you get my point.
4. So it is... Either is a bad naming or a naming like flashy titles in newspapers just to draw attention. No, it is not the right word. And at this point I do not think Seshomaru wants to kill him even if he says so. Of course if Inuyasha does not pass Seshomaru's test he will die, but is not the same as killing him.
5. It is not about a god complex. The answer is explained by me at #3 This is shown in the movie "Sword of an honorable ruler"

Note that many mangas/anime similar to this one actually relate to two real life situation for the japanese. One is high status men marrying low status women, and the other japanese women marrying european men after the WW2 (or 1? not sure). In both cases the children from these unions were despised by both sides .

3. I get what you mean but none of that is inuyasha fault? He is blaming someone that had no choice in the matter. If sesshomaru felt like his father deserted him then that’s understandable but blaming inuyasha is wrong because it wasn’t his fault that there father fell in love with inuyasha’s Mom.
4. Ok
5. I don’t consider any of the movies official because they were not written by Rumiko Takahashi
6. That’s fine but I still thought there relationship would be much different at the end of the series

NightcrawlerCyp In reply to kumens [2017-12-25 16:55:34 +0000 UTC]

So you do not consider the movies canon... while Runiko did not write the movies she was involved in their development and I think the movies explain better the psychology behind some of the character actions
