Description
M11A1 Recce: Stripped down Reconnaissance variant. Armed with a Single M2 Machine gun and a radio
M11A1: Original variant with one M2, one fixed M1919A4 and a 3-tube Grenade discharger (which is referenced as essentially a mortar tube)
M11A1M: Mortar Carrier variant equipped with an M1 81mm mortar
M11A1C: Command variant. Adds an extra radio but loses the M2. What? officers can't walk on-foot...
M11A2: Light combat Walker: enclosed cabin introduced, with a riveted turret for the M2 machine gun. (produced 1940-late 1941)
M11A3: Light armored walker; Equipped with the 37mm gun M6 (in-game it's an M4b cannon*) and one fixed m1919a4 and the 3-tube Grenade discharger. (1941-mid 1942)
M11A3F: Flame-thrower variant. replaced the M6 with a flamethrower. most of these made it into US marine hands as they became useful against bunkers and caves (produced 1942-1943)
M11A5: Light armored walker: Redesign of the frontal armor of the A3E1, with the addition of two M1919A4s and slightly more frontal armor. Crews were known to grab track links from M3/M5 stuarts (or whatever was on-hand) to add some armor to the turret. Still retains the M6/M4B. Radial replaced to the same standards as the M5 Stuart. (Produced late 1942-1944)
M11A4: Anti Aircraft Variant: includes four M2 machine guns in a mount similar to the m45. retains the fixed M1919A4 and the 3-tube Grenade discharger.
U.S Marine M11s fought from the Philippines in 1941 through to the end of the war, in a theatre with which lighter walkers were still of use compared to the European front. Beloved by their crews, the M11 was far superior to the Japanese Shiki 38s and Shiki 41s, with only the Tengu 41 and watasumi walkers or the rare tank to really challenge them.
Note: While not following dreampod9's canon to a letter, as I felt it could be modified/improved, I did use Dp515: Fighting vehicles of the modern age pdf. as a reference. Noting that the M11 is heavily based on the M3 stuart, I decided to add more stuarty options such as the M5. These counters are intended to be used with the Gear Krieg dp501 Rules first edition, which actually included paper counters which i've drawn inspiration from for this. Eventually, Once I've chiseled through some more walkers I hope to actually make some modified stat cards (since, these do not follow actual variants as previously stated) in the near future.
