Meet Tasia Cedusa, a royal serpent with a unique power...

Tasia is the second born of the noble Cedusa family. Her marks for greatness were apparent at her birth - with cold white and black skin and a distinctive hood-like crest above her tendrils. Such features made her stand out among xenaga nobility throughout her life, much to her enjoyment. Her demeanour flourished under her upbringing, learning about the duties, and privileges, of living in a powerful aristocratic house.

She was studious in her education, quickly picking up the proper etiquette and habits of high society. She learned history, combat, and tactics… though such “brutality” waa best left to those that served under her. Control and power wasn't held by the strongest, but by the one who could direct and harness the strength of others. In this, she was akin to the eldest Cedusa daughter, Nyx. The two often matched wits in strategic games and exercises during their youth, even escalating to chess games with servants and associates used as pawns.

With her other sisters, Tasia demanded deference and loyalty - but was far too often denied such. Ravenna's cleverness rivaled hers, and Arkadia was far too free-spirited. Tasia often bemoaned the youngest sister’s lack of “dignified behavior”. Even so, Tasia did occasionally manage turn her pranks around, and there was a running tally of competing antics at the other’s expense.

As the sisters grew older, the games turned more political - and Tasia had a mind to win. She garnered support among other noble families through varied tactics. Her primary strength was information - sending spies out to find details and secrets that rivals wouldn’t want revealed or plans in the works. Where guile and espionage was less useful, she was eager to use her charms and decorum to win her way into many high circles. She had more than a few consorts at any given time, all easily made to unwittingly divulge details and plans in private.

Then, the great discovery occurred. The sisters, on one of the rare occasions they were all together “amicably”, stole their way into the Cedusa family vaults - where deep secrets had been secured away for years. Greatest of all the treasures, however, were a number of curious gauntlets of wondrous craftmanship. Each sister tried one on… and found they could not remove them. Yet, their fear changed to awe as each sister discovered strange abilities and powers granted by the artifacts. All, that is, except Tasia. While the others were granted powers of illusion, enchantment, and poisonous snaring, Tasia’s seemed almost useless - other than the fact it fit her like a second skin and was incredibly pretty to look at.

She discovered its true ability later. One of the Cedusa guards, Yaren, happened upon Tasia in her chamber looking at her gauntlet. She tried to charm him into keeping silent about the theft - she had tried her best to get her into the bed many times before - yet was rebuffed as usual. When she grabbed him to try a last attempt to stop him, a strange substance burst forth from the gauntlet and spread onto Yaren’s body. It covered him in a dark but shining coat of latex-like liquid and soon Yaren stood perfectly still and obeyed Tasia’s every command. That night, she enjoyed his company - and the obedient Yaren pleased her in every way she desired. This led to a new trick for Tasia to use against her enemies.

Yet, as the nobles bickered and schemed, the lower classes began to rise up until soon an all out civil war broke loose across their world. Houses and aristocrats used varying tactics to keep their serfs in line, some more successful than others.Tasia used her newfound powers to enforce absolute loyalty from her subjects - by stripping them of their will and leaving them subservient drones, uniformly glistening in smooth, black/blue skin.

Her schemes were not enough for the coup de grace attack that the eldest sister, Nyx, devised, however. Playing both sides, Nyx ensured her own rise to power and systematically killed everyone who could oppose her - including their parents. Tasia’s power was shattered, her servants destroyed as they bought her enough time to barely escape the planet.

Furious at her defeat - and her lost power - Tasia was left with only a handful of servants that managed to flee with her into exile. Tasia was utterly unwilling to surrender the power and privilege she had enjoyed from her youth. She swore she would rise to even greater heights - but that required a place to start.

She found it by embedding herself into the Jaskarr Consortium - a cabal of criminals that specialized in hiring our mercenaries and running extortion rings across several worlds. Her ability to grow their ranks - and charm rivals - managed to get her a quick ascension to a lofty position running businesses that provide various pleasures to the immense underworld of Loxas. She goes by the name “Tasia Rennd”, and both she and her growing numbers of drone-like loyalists are both feared and envied.

Yet Tasia has not forgotten her roots. She is royalty by birth and at heart. She schemes endlessly to build her powerbase. One day, she will rule as a true queen above others. All those that stand in her way will either learn to bow on their own, or after they have acquired a lovely new sheen on their skin.
