I like this, though I think cowboy boots would have been more interesting. They would have added some more shapes and shades of black similar to the hat to keep the picture flowing, as it is the sneakers stand out too much to me. Also I donβt know if itβs because it is a scan, or the same thing is in the original, but I think the background, especially the tree should be sharper, its such and interesting shape and tends to get lost in the current composition. Otherwise great shot.

Even though I don't comment you work here too often, I just have to say that I LOVE the contrast of that background and the overexposure doesn't bother at all. Things what I don't like, is his black shirt, it somehow distracts the overall tones, or how could I express it? I love the tones in his hat and the way his face is lighten. I don't like the pose it somehow feels constrained and silly at the same time - you guys were having fun, thats how I see it. The thing what really would've been killer here (I think): you should have placed him lying centered on the street, without clothes, without those SHOES.. Just his hat, serious face.. Or he should have a little polished grin, just to emit his proudness about his self-esteem and body (of course his genitals would be hidden behind his hands, just like in paintings in the age of renaissance).

A great scan, I love the detail that has come through here. Although it is fairly clean there is still a subtle grain here that I enjoy - it's nice to see you posting again!
