If there's one thing I LOVE and can't get enough of, it's modern!HTTYD. My sister and I talk about it all the time, and we come up with the funniest ideas, along with a few serious ones to boot. This one, however, was one I came up with all on my own. It's a modern day version of Heather, from Riders of Berk. It's a shame she didn't get to appear more, because she really is a great character. I enjoyed the conflict she created by her presence, and the way it was subsequently solved. Here's hoping she appears in Dragon Masters next season...

Anyhoo, in terms of a modern day high school universe, Heather is one of those people that ends up liked by pretty much everyone because she's so friendly, including more than a few boys. However, Heather is a lot more than just a pretty face. She's the president of the science club, an active member of the academic decathlon team, and has made the honor roll every semester since her freshman year. She is also very fashionable and enjoys dressing up when she's not doing experiments.

Believe it or not, her outfit was one of the hardest parts, in terms of color schemes. I ended up going with one similar to what she had on the show, and I think it came out pretty nicely. My headcanon is that although Heather likes being fashionable, she's also very practical and sensible about it. I figured that since she was made the alchemist in the School of Dragons game, she would really be into science and wants to be a chemist someday.
