Shortened story
Ricki was born on a cold night, in the midst of confusion, his mother had given birth to him sooner than expected and Ricki was born a tiny baby. After a week of being in the hospital he was left there by his parents whom had run away. With no sign of the missing parents, poor Ricki was left in an orphanage until they found a reliable family member, but due to the lack of information about their parents no such person was ever found. As he grew up in the orphanage, he became a calm boy whom took care of all his "brothers" and "sisters" whom he cared for more than anything. Since no one adopted him he eventually became the oldest child in the orphanage and when he turned 11, his grandmother miraculously found him and took him in.
Ricki had a happy childhood,he loved his grandmother and helped her out a lot, since she lived alone, she would tell stories about his grandfather who was in the military and died protecting his best friend which was by coincidence Benji's grandfather, so when Ricki was 14 he met Benji when Benji's grandfather came to visit Ricki's grandmother, and they became friends ever since.
