I take a good look at the color wheel. In school, I have been taught about Color harmonies. These were helpful in making designs for new characters back in my time. But now that I rarely make new ocs because of how shitty their plots are, I use them upon fusions, personas, redesigns, and lucid dream designs.

I like to use Analogous...a lot, because it fits my style very well.

The Analogous color harmony uses colors that are next to each other in the color wheel.

Other than Color harmonies, I have also been taught about warm and cool colors. Warm colors are like Red, Orange, and yellow. Cool colors are like Green, Blue, and Purple. 
There's also Tint, Shades, and tones, and it really helped me with shading my drawings.
Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors, my childhood learning helped me cope up with these things.

I usually choose colors that look good on the characters and or their "Auras and potentials". 

For example, we all know that Foxy is coded in red. In his original design, we see yellow(eyes) and brown(pants), but we also see grey(his metal parts), white(his teeth) and black(his hook), and that still goes really well. Since yellow and brown are near red, it makes a nice analogous theme. Black, Grey, and White are okay with any colors since there's a thing called "Saturation". Red and white has a christmas-y theme, Red and black has a murderous theme, Red and grey has the love-ish theme.

Because of this idea, his redesign of mine has added more to it, and made him stand out a bit more.

Not just Analogous can be helpful, but complementary as well.

The Complementary color harmony uses colors that are opposite to each other in the color wheel.

I like the combo of Blue and orange, Pink and green, and Purple and yellow. I sometimes dislike Red and Green.
It's hard to use them when making certain designs.

As a person who likes Red(or really, Scarlet), and dislikes Orange(only when it is alone), anything close to red can be "buddies" for the design I want to make.

I don't remember well, but I guess you like green right? So I suggest you to use colors near green. Like blue and yellow. You can use the "deep blue sea" combo: Green, Blue green, Blue, and Indigo- which are some of the colors I used for designing King.

If the colors don't go well, I use the hue, saturation, and brightness changer in SAI. I'm pretty sure you can find one similar to this in Photoshop.

The details of the characters can mix up with others. Since I consider Foxy as a red, Washington as an Orange, and Tails as a yellow. This trio made an analogous fusion, that represents an emperor color palette. *cough Kuzco cough*

King is also kinda analogous, however, Nick's color potential is one tile away from the nearest(which is Foxie) in the color wheel. This results 1/2 less stronger than Emperor, because the colors do not have a pure analogous scheme.

Emperor's fusers are friendly and are not corrupt, which makes him/them shaped into a friend.

Actually, the arms are controlled by all three fusers(yes, and the other movable body parts), not individually. They all work together as a team. This makes some fusions hard to stay as a fusion, because the fusers have to cooperate. Think of it like one giant robot controlled from the inside. All body parts such as arms, legs, tails, ears, head, uh...private things, etc. have potentials of being fused into one or in normal pairs. Since Emperor have 4 arms, all arms are controlled and owned by these three foxes. And since these three are the same kind(foxes of course) they get to have 3 tails, one tail for each fox.

But if to say, fusing Rigby with Washington, it makes one ringed fox tail and a normally small body. OWO

EVERY FUSION HAS SOME FEATURES EACH FUSER HAS(!)
Which is why it's called a fusion.

I'm not really IN the sonic fandom nor franchise, but I do seldom watch Sonic boom(I feel like a horrible person watching that, but I oddly find it entertaining). So I barely get remembered information. I want you to do me a favor, give me a brief and somewhat short essay about the Sonic franchise pleaassee, the characters and the stories. I know how toxic it's fandom is and I don't want to risk getting my eyes shunned by countless idiots in it so help meeee ;w;

I really need to put some of this Information in "The classroom foxes" someday.

Alrighty, it would be the right thing to do, for you've given me such helpful advice. Honestly my school never taught me that type of stuff, only taught me the name of the colors when I was 4 years old lol. I would've expected more from my high-school, since I've taken about 4 different art classes, but they've never mentioned what you've just told me. It's no wonder why I liked King when I first saw him. XD
Favorite colors would indeed be green, blue, orange and yellow. I know, I have more than one, but these 4 can be well collaborated.

Um, anyway, about Sonic. Well, as a past-Sonic-maniac back in my 9-12 grade time, Sonic the Hedgehog was based off to be nothing but a comic series back in the 1980's, then went it's way to Archive comics, where it was only Sonic and his nemesis Dr. Robotnik and a bunch of small helpless critters who would then be turned into mindless robots. In term of joke, Robotnik is "Dr. Eggman's ancestor" since he was designed before Dr. Eggman was even a thing at the time. That's were it all began.

From there, SEGA, the what we know is of now is a multinational videogame company first started off in Japan where they made the very first Sonic game, releasing on the 23rd of June 1991. I was such of freak of STH that I claimed for every 23rd of June to be "Sonic Day" and I'd dress up only wearing attire and accessories that were Sonic related.

Right, moving on.. 9.9
Around 1992, that's when Tails was born and was the second protagonist character for the Sonic franchise, while Sonic being the first protagonist. Tails had a much different color at the time. We like to call him classic Tails. His tails were much smaller, his shoes were pointy, had a very round torso, same with Sonic. Not fully sure what year or what game made Amy appear, but her appearance was tremendously different than how we see her now. Her hair and outfit were different, I feel like they've tried to give her a Mini Mouse appearance at the time lol. Actually, come to think of it. She almost looked like Sonic's sister, Sonia. Yes, Sonic has a bro and sis, Sonia, Manic and their Mother Queen Aleena, she ditched the kids when they were bred. Then later raised by who I believe we're locals, more likely peasants. Even Though they seemed like average kids, each one of them contained a special abillity. Sonic with guitar power, Manic with drum power, and Sonia with keyboard power. The three later then take out Robotnik and any other enemies that try to provoke any damage or domination. Sonic's bro, sis, mother, and uncle, lol he has an uncle named Chuck. Sonic's uncle is the reason why he likes chilli dogs. They were all featured in the animated series "Sonic Underground" which was based off differently than how we normally see Sonic games and shows. It was made after the first Sonic Series who had recognized characters like Tails, but no Amy or Knuckles the Echedna. Instead, he's had other allies which is Sally Acorn (aka Sonic's so call gf before Amy Rose) Mighty, Anti-Rotor who was later named Boomer, Bunnie Rabbot, she's half rabbit half robot. Antoine, lol he kinda reminds me of Lt. Foxie and Viktor. Robotnik had friends in this show, Snively who was Robonik's assistant, a robot chicken named Scratch and a weird looking mini bulldozer known as Grounder. Never got able to finish watching those two series, but they were mostly comedy related and American animated.

Let's see. After the disappearance of Sally Acorn and Sonic's classic allies. He then changed appearance. Became stretched out a bit later in the year 2003 and up, same with Tails, Amy changed a lot as well, seeing her in the red dressy outfit with that giant mallet of hers. Sonic X was brought around that time and made its way as an anime-looking series. You might like that one. In Sonic X, the fellas and Dr. Eggman (no longer Robotnik) were transfered out of their world which is a planet known as Mobius, and taken to Earth. While Sonic, Amy, Tails, Cream the Rabbit, (youngest character in the show) her mother Vanilla (hottes- sorry), Dr. Eggman and Knuckles, remain on Earth, a few have remained in Mobius. Rouge appears here too, oh god >< how much I didn't like Rouge at the time. You may have seen her, that thiefty bat-chick who has a secret admire for Knuckles and Shadow aka "everyone's favorite character" Omg speaking of Shadow, his operation in this entire show was to search for a girl named Maria. God how much he bitched for her, speaking about nonsense that he doesn't rememner, and all he knows is it has to do with her and space. Well um, not leaving spoilers here am I? Then again I'm just giving you my experiences of my Sonic life. Tails has made a gf only for a few days in that show because she had to do something for her.. Colony. Sigh, poor Tails, I cried after seeing that part X'D. Her name was Cosmo (not Fairly Odd Parents Cosmo). Hm, I remember now much Knuckles was crazy for guarding the Master Emerald down at Angel Island. That emerald acts as a counter to the seven chaos emralds. Each chaos emerald will treat whoever uses it to contain powerful abilities and of course, "chaos" they're practically overpowered gems. You might have known the term "when someome enables the 7 chaos emeralds, they will become Super." I always thought that ability was straight up taken from DBZ lol. But so far the only characters I've seen who've gone Super were Sonic, Tails, Shadow, and even.. dare I say it, Silver. How much I hated that futuristic Hedgehog with telekinesis. Rather go with Metal/Mecha Sonic rather than him, who was a mechanical version of Sonic created by Eggman. Ugh, that takes us to around 2007, when even more characters turn up, and even more games.
Sonic Riders, a racing/battle game with hover boards and futuristic schemes. Sonic Rivals 1 and 2 same as Sonic Riders except no hover boards. Sonic Unleashed where Sonic becomes a were-hog. A cute and adorable character named Chip appears in that game. Then there were games that I find pretty bad (in a bad way) Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic Generations, Sonic Colors, they're all just running and fast thinking.

That kinda led it here to Sonic Boom. That Knuckles turning stupid and on roids, I'll never be able to erase that tragic from my memory ><.
I watched Sonic Boom tbh. I think it's alright, and dunno why but I kinda like to see Sticks, that new/currently going tomboy character with a boomerang to be with Tails, but eh *shrugs* Ya know, mentioning Sonic Boom makes me wanna watch some episodes. I haven't caught up all the way. Lol don't tell anyone. Even if that show is mostly aimed for "trying to make you laugh" and "oh no! Dr. Eggman's at it again, oh thats fine we always win" It can be quite predictable right? CX

Random Fact: In Sonic X, the Japanese version has a kissing scene while the U.S. version is cut. "Ya see! We never get good things in shows anymore!!!" XD

Well at least it doesnt sound as worse as those dumb Pokemon censors(replacing riceball wh sandwich??). There's also this thing in Sly cooper, a cutscene where sly kisses carmelita. The japanese version had it animated while, what i've heard, the us version doesnt. ;×;

Us is strict with their deleted scenes, while the japanese says: "Screw this, lets just keep it there, we have a lot of hentai animes anyway."

Im starting to get scared that cartoon reboot nowadays will always be bad. Sonic boom attempted, but left everyone in disgust. Teen titans go tried, but everyone cringes it. Now i thought the Power puff girls reboot wouldnt be so bad, i watched the full opening and it looks really badass. But i've seen many critiques claiming that it was bad. As a young person who likes many things, the show doesnt look that bad to be honest. Sure it had some major changes that made me upset about *cough wherethefuckissarahbellum cough*, but overall its quite a decent reboot.

Bubbles still remained as my most favorite character there, but she had some changes as well.

Apart from bad reboots, what do you think of shows like Uncle grandpa and Breadwinners? Everyone else hates those shows but i like them.

Ahh i remember something like this happened to my previous previous senpai. He was like you sega, except he was in my school and is half japanese. We have the same interests and he draws amazingly. When weboth went to an event of journalism, we get to stay in a hotel with other students for the contest. He brought his laptop and i wanted to check it out. He showed me AOT abridged and some other awesome anime stuff. When he went phtoshopping i asked if he can make a gif. He doesnt know how, even as a person who is 16 years old(i was 12 that time)! So i taught him how to animate a worm in photoshop, some times it can become awkward, but in the end he successfully did it. He drew a wiggling worm. : DD

But all has to be put to an end in our graduation days. I had to go to a newer school and he also has to go to a different one as well. What's the most embarrasing thing is that I finally hugged him and thanked him for temporarily being my sensei.

Ah right, Sonic X is worth watching. I've watched it so much, I was at the state of memorising the theme song.

No problem Cookie, that was all from muscle memory, and that's just half of the things I've talked out relating to Sonic.

Typical Pokemon, you probably know about this one drastic episode which was taken off since the episode contained eplispy related content. Indeed, I was afraid they may have done something to Sly Copper Thieves in Time , but I don't think they did, talk about a game containing many anthropomorphic cleavages. XP

I find that to be a prediction. Many predict that reboots of some sort will turn out bad. I'm usually the one who waits and sees what happens. I don't talk about this or mention it, but I've watched the new Power Puff Girls and I find it better than Teen Titans Go. Not hating, but there's just something odd about TTG. I don't see why PPG may be getting bad responses, it's decent like you say.

Oh, I've heard a lot of hate from those two shows. I've watched Uncle Grandpa before without being forced to watch it becuase it was always good to watch something you'd least expect and that's what it had. Who's your favorite in that show btw? Belly bag was decent. Bread Winners not so much, that's the one with the green duck brothers right? Well, to make it sound even, I for some reason like watching Clearance, the adults in that show omg XD. And have been watching some more Steven Universe. That reminds me, I should call my room mate to record the next episode of In Too Deep that starts today. Fuq ><

Nah, I don't blame the schools, well actually yes, each school teaches differently, but I blame myself tbh. I don't think I've learned the basic color schemes very well when I was younger. It's not a problem for me to figure out what colors go good together, but the school I went to didn't seem to have full focus on that, they've only mentioned that in one of my art classes out of the 4 plus 3 I've taken in total, and they've called it something else. Everything else was basic, like cross hatching, positive negative effect, shading, vanishing points, you know how it goes. So yeah, it's the education's fault too. This advice you've given me was an advance from what I kinda knew. ^^ But now I know, and it's all thanks to you. ;3

Ah, sounds like a very nice friend, like me? Oh, he got you to watch AOT? Mikasa, potato girl, good times good times. Well there you go, even at an older age than you he didn't know about making a gif, that defiently sounds like me, even if I've learned it already. Point is, even if him or I is to be older we don't know everything. Teaching one another about things we don't know is a wonderful thing. l3 Even if thats teaching your friend how to animate a worm.

Yeaouch, poor porygon. Wel, i've never played sly cooper, but ive watched the animated scenes and watched a short brief history about him, which still makes me knowledgable about it. ; P Im looking forward to the movie even if its going to be different.


You know what, I just hope that most of my childhood cartoons are going to be more than decent when rebooted. I think the samurai jack reboot is going to have its great potential in adult swim. I think PPG is better than TTG also in my opinion because the plots of most episodes arent "dumb", so far, i bravely watched three episodes. One is about bubbles joining a fashion show, the other is about the three turning into old ladies, and another is about blossom getting rid of party demons who are going to take over the world . I say its pretty good apart from the weird faces they make.

I like Beary nice, even though he purposely tries to kill hotdog person it seems when they make new experiences. But if to say, primary characters, it's obviously uncle grandpa because i tend to draw him more than the others at times. The show's got this weirdness, and most episodes are about that regardless. There are also other characters I like such as Tiny Miracle, EU GAPA, and weird man. *chants email* Yep, the green duck brothers, i thought some of the characters were cute such as the pizza winners and great ideas only if they have different appearances. I like clarence, clarence reminds me of when chowder, steven universe, and uncle grandpa mixed together into this. The characters are nice and i like how clarence stays weirdly positive even if bad things happen to him and his friends. If its the episode about peridot and steven drilling to the cluster, ive already watched that. But if its the episode about lapis, im so ready to watch it!

Ahh i know those as well, theres an art materials brand named Faber Castel and an event was held in my past school about it. I was taught about it.

About Faber Castel, have you used it? I use them on traditional drawings even on that drawing of Baitan and the Foxtuplets. I think I remember that you use crayola, which i barely intend to use it because the coloring is too edgy for me. Not only Faber castel has coloring pencils, they have markers, watercolors, pens, and all those grade a drawing materials. Im even holding a pencil of that brand while typing this! So yeah, by cookie's style, its a recommended use. OwO However, im not sure if your area sells this brand. It does not come from the Philippines but originally came from germany. Dont worry though, i didnt buy these FROM GERMANY, these were imported from germany to the philippines. Josh doesnt use these things though.

Btw you can get MANY MORE TYPES of colors if you buy the 64 color pencils box, but i own a 48.
